This is a update to a message that I posted elsewhere on this Board regarding the family of Isaac (de) La Grange & Marytje Burgaart. I have added information about this family that I found on this site:

Following the information on the above site, I have made 1 change in the names of Isaac & Marytje La Grange's children:

I have changed the name of their daughter "Grietje La Grange", who married Johannes Luke, to "Geesje La Grange", because that is how she is known in Canadian records. Note that her granddaughter "Lucretia La Grange" was also called "Geesje" in Luke records. "Geesje" seems to be a pet form of "Gesina". I'm beginning to suspect that "Grietje" may here represent the name "Lucretia", and that "Geesje" indicates that both women bore the two given names "Lucretia" & "Geesje". But of course there is no proof of that.

This is an updated reconstruction which connects it back to the immigrant OMIE DE La Grange. I cannot quarantee the accuracy of the dates.

I found the following "Lagrang" in the 1852 Census of St Armand East District 1:

Isaac Lagrang.......38.....Canada
Lucretia Lagrang....69.....USA....nee Luke [also called "Geesje" in some sources]

Wife & son of Abraham (deceased by 1852). Is this the Isaac La Grange who married Anna Guthrie, who died shortly after their marriage (her funeral was on 5 Feb 1849)?
