Laidlay Family

I am researching my ancestors the Laidlay family of East Lothian Scotland - family home in the 1850 - 1907's Seacliffe House.
There is a strong India connection, many of the family having spent time in Calcutta during the early 18OO's. The Laidlay family married into the Watson family from the East
Lothian region in the early 18OO's and from
that time many of the Laidlay children carry
the name Watson as their second name.
Names include: John Watson Laidlay, Elizabeth
Watson Laidlay, John E.Laidlay - the famous
golfer. The Watson family were a naval family including Admiral Watson, Commander of
the the fleet in the Indian Ocean who assisted Clive to take Calcutta in the late
1700's. I would appreciate any info on either the Laidlay family or the Watson family. Thank you. Pat - Australia
