Realizing the age of this person, she was almost 90 years old, I thought perhaps this Obit in Longview News Journal (TX) might be of interest to someone. I have seldom seen the name LAIN, so I thought I would post this incase it would help. I have NO connections with any LAIN families whatsoever.

Pittsburg TX. Services for Girlie L.Hoffman 92, of Pittsburg will be held at 2PM today, Mar.13-2001 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Cecil McCleod officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cem. Mrs. Hoffman, a member of Macedonia Bapt.Church of Pittsburg died Sunday, Mar.11,2001 at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg. She was born April 12, 1908 in CAMP CO. She received a masters degree from East TX. State University in Commerce and was an elementary school teacher, retiring from the Pittsburg Independent School Dist. Mrs. Hoffman was preceded in death by her late husband, WILLIAM HOFFMAN in 1956 and her parents WILLIAM AND SUSAN THOMPSON LAIN. She is survived by one son, Steven HOFFMAN of Pittsburg, one grandaughter Desri Elizabeth HOFFMAN of Longview, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Cypress Basin Hospice
