My great grandfather was Antonio LaPerriere born 2/20/1887, St Boniface. He lived and had children in Trois Rivieres. I know St Boniface is very close to Trois Rivieres. He had 6 siblings: Leonie, Louis Phillip, Antonia, Augustine, Valentine and Octavie. His parents were Louis Phillip LaPerriere and born 1/28/1859 in St Leon and died 6/1944 in St Boniface. He was married to Clara Lambert born in 1866, died 1/26/1906 St Boniface. They were married 1/13/1885.

I'd like to give gggramps his due. I think he deserves his name, and not what a census taker heard or a transcriber thought it looked like.

I found many records for him. He was baptized as:
Trefflé Trouillet and married as Trefflé Lajeunesse. The spelling of the name Trefflé is the standard French spelling. His ancestors used the surname Trouillet dit Lajeunesse.

The surname Trouillet was dropped after immigration to the US. He adopted the dit name Lajeunesse as the only surname. If you are tracing his (your) ancestors, you will want to look for both names.

Bap records and marriage records of the children used the name surname Lajeunesse. It last seen in the early 1900's, and Americanized to Young by the entire family. No branches of this family use Lajeunesse.

His death record and headstone have the name Treffley Young.
Presumedly, this is the name his immediate family and friends last knew him by.

So no, Thifle, Triffle, Treffik, Triflea, Frederick, etc.

George Harry Young was my great-great grandfather and a son of Trefley (Thrifle) Lajeunesse Young. My great-grandfather was Goar Thomas Young (b. 19 Oct 1899 Wisconsin d. Jan 1976 in Chicago).

I am looking for any information on Mary Young/Lajeunesse. She is my great great grandma. She married Oliver Cameron and they had 10 children together. She was born approx. 1832/35/38/42. Died approx. 1911/12 buried North Hero Vermont. Oliver and Mary lived on Cherry/Cameron Island near Butler's Island. I am told that she is native indian. Does any one know who her parents are or anything about her family before she married my great great grandpa?

Yeah i do have a cousin Joan Lajeunesse,but i don't know her married name...she lives in Sudbury Ont.

Thanks for replying to my post.

Just recently (within the past week or so) I discovered who Ernest's parents are.

However, I would love to know more about Ernest and Laura's children and grandchildren. Perhaps your cousin also knows about Ernest's siblings.

I would love to have Sandra email me. Please let me know if that works for her.

Also, who are your parents? I looked into the LAJEUNESSE family a bit when trying to discover Ernest's origins. His mother was the 2nd of 3 wives to Maurice -- but you probably already knew that.

I have been extensively emailing your cousin Joan SCHMUT. Do you know her?

Thank you for the birthdate. I found their marriage 2 Aug 1858 in Farnham, Missiquoi, Quebec. His father was also called Edouard Trouillet dit Lajeunesse, and his mother Marie Angelique Judith Meunier. Those dit/dite names sure make it difficult.
Treffle is my 4th cousin 3 times removed. My father knew his son George Henry Young.

I am looking for more information on Laura LAJEUNESSE and Ernest ARBOUR from Espanola, ON.

Actually, I would specifically like more info on Ernest ARBOUR. I am an ARBOUR researcher and cannot seem to connect this branch to the family tree. I do not know Ernest's parents.

I do know that Ernest ARBOUR was born in 1913 and died in 1999. He also had a brother named Paul ARBOUR.

Ernest's father died before 1930. His mother remarried to Maurice LAJEUNESSE, who happens to be Laura's father. So Ernest married his step-sister.

Can anyone please help shed light on this family?
