Marie Laveau married Jacques Paris in St. Louis Cathedral in 1819. He died or disappeared soon after. She subsequently formed a permanent relationship with a white man, Louis Christophe Dominick Duminy de Glapion. They had five children, not fifteen: Marie Heloise, Marie Louise Caroline, Francois, Marie Philomene, and Archange. Marie Louise, Francoise, and Arcange died as children. Heloise had five children with Pierre Crocker, a free man of color, all had the surname Crocker. Philomene had seven children with Emile Alexandre Legendre, a white man, all had the surname Legendre. None of Queen Marie's descendants had the name Laveau or Glapion.
