Heart Condition Fatal to Eliza Lakes
Eliza Lakes, 74, of McKee died at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 of a heart condition.
A native of Jackson County, she was born June 24, 1892, the daughter of David and Martha Cole Hellard. She was married to Elbert Lakes who survives.
Mrs. Lakes was a member of the McKee Baptist Church.
Other survivors include one daughter, Beatrice Viars, Dayton, Ohio, two sons, June Lakes and Wallace Lakes, both of McKee, two brothers, Phee Hillard, London; Wiley Hillard, Annville, 4 grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday at the McKee Baptist Church by Rev. Fountaine Jones and Rev. Charley Lunsford. Burial was in the T.M. Lakes Cemetery at Sand Gap under the direction of Justice & Lakes Funeral Home.
