I know it's been many years since you posted this, but I only found it today. My husband's ancestor was Garland Lakes. One of his sons was Benjamin Harrison Lakes who married Emma Tell Long, a Cherokee woman. Garland's other children were John Lakes, Ellick Lakes, James Lakes, Mary Lakes and Elizabeth Lakes. The children of Benjamin Harrison Lakes and Emma Tell Long include Rubina Lakes who married Alfred Lee Moss. I have more information about the next 4 or 5 generations from Garland Lakes if you think these are related to the persons in inquiry.
