Is anyone missing a James Lakie who married 1878 Martha Todd in Whitby UK. He was a mariner, possibly Irish. Thought to have a brother William and Thomas.

James Lakie married Martha Todd in 1787 at Whitby Yorkshire UK. He was a sailor, don't know where he came from. His son Simon was listed Lakie/Leek and his offspring Leck.

The name Leck remained.

They stayed in Whitby for 100 years involved in ships carpentry and Whitby jet manufacturing. Other names:- Simon and Isobel Elder. Peter Elder Leck. Isobel Leck born 1790 Whitby. Jane Leek born Whitby 1799. James 1813, Jane 1820.
