Looking for any information on BELLE LaMARR. She came to White Oaks,New Mexico via train from St. Louis,Mo...date undknown, with her friend,Lil Rogers.
She opened and operated the Little Saloon in White Oaks.
She is listed in the book by Henry James,"Madame Varnish and the golden era". It is believed this book is out of print now.
Belle is believed to have left White Oaks and gone to San Fransisco California and possibly married Andrew Joe Duncan in March 1921.
There is also a Belle LaMarr who died in New York City in 1972...don't have any idea as to who this may be,but the dates of her birth and death may fit the person I am looking for 1889-1972.
Belle originally worked at the Palais in St.Louis,Mo. and went west after reading a newspaper article about miners wanting girls and women in the mining camps of the west.
Any information or leads at all on this person would be appreciated.

Jessie J. La Mar -->b.in France(date unk) -->married Carl Mack

Looking for info on my paternal gr-grandmother,
Jessie J. La Mar. She was born in France & married Carl Mack (also b. in France). Both were probably born in the 1880-1885 range. Don't know if they married in the US or France but my grandmom, Joy Evelyn Mack (their dtr.), was born abt. 1906 in Oregon (town unk.). I don't know the names of any other children.

Joy married my granddad, Joseph William Wasson, in 1925 in San Diego, CA. It's possible Jessie & Carl moved to CA w/their dtr., or stayed in Oregon, or moved to another state.
I just don't know.

I obtained this info from Joy & Joseph's marriage certificate so it should be correct; however, my grandparents divorced when my dad, an only child, was very young and Dad lost touch with Joy, his mom, so we have no other information.

If Jessie J. La Mar is familiar to anyone please email me. My family tree is a dead-end which stops w/ Jessie & Carl.
Thanks, Debbie

I am looking for the parents of James Madison Buck. He fathered two or more children in Pleasanton, TX. Those two being daughters Mary E. and Beatrice Buck. Mary was born in 1871. Unknown date of birth for Beatrice. James had a brother or son named Eugene Buck. One story that has come to me as his ggranddaughter is that the name Buck was Americanized from the French name Le Buc in Louisiane. I just found that there was a soldier in the civil war whose name was Beau. Lamar. My father was Charles Lamar Sims and I believe that he may have been named for an early family member. It is a shot in the dark, but if you can connect these names I sure would like to know. My email address is pattycake1945@yahoo.com.
