HI Janis. Just received your posting..twice ..so I better getright to it. I have no record of a Robert & Hannah Lamb in my tree so far. Never could figure what reason my William & Margaret located in Byers Green from their origin in Oviningham, Northumberland. They were in Byers for the birth of their last 5 children before returning to Ovingham to end out their days. If/perhaps William was drawn to the Byers Area because he had kin folk there??? then maybe we have a connection that is worthy of investigation. William dob Nov.22, 1837 had 5 brothers one of which 'could' have settled in The Byers area and 'could' be the link. Cheers for now... Ernest in Canada Have a nice day. :o)

Isaac Lamb and the U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900

This is the documentation supporting the "U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900" for the marriage of Isaac Lamb and Elizabeth Hempstead

"Isaac Lamb bought land near the Mystic river in what was New London, Connecticut, about 1695 or 1696. In 1704 all of New London east of the River Thames was made Groton. He is believed to have been the Isaac Lamb recorded as having been baptized and owned the covenant at Watertown, Mass., July 10 1687. There is a well-founded tradition that Isaac Lamb, with his father (whose name is unknown to have been Daniel) came from England and settled first on a grant of land they had received at Haverhill, Mass., but they were finally driven away by the Indians, and Isaac went to New London, Conn. for safety. Isaac Lamb was said to have been a soldier in Cromwell's Army. In 1714 he bought two hundred acres of land in Mystice, Conn., which has been the homestead ever since. He died in 1723. He married Elizabeth-----------. They first joined the church at Norwich, Conn., but through some minor disbelief in orthodoxy, were excommunicated, and Isaac became one of the organizers of the first Baptist church in Connecticut, founded in Groton in 1705. Isaac Lamb was one of the two deacons first elected."

Source: "Genealogical Sketch of the Lamb Family" Compiled by Fred W. Lam, Published 1903.

Elizabeth Hempstead's name is not even mentioned in the above sketch of the Lamb Family. This is the only source of "documentation" for this "U.S. and International Marriage Record," other than three Family Group Sheets, the essence of which you can see by viewing any Lamb family tree.

On the other hand, Elizabeth Hempstead's marriage to John Plumbe is founded upon multiple authentic historical records: 1. New London Vital Records, 2. New London Town Records, 3. New England Marriages Prior to 1700, (which record Isaac Lamb as married to Elizabeth???), and 4. THE DIARY OF JOSHUA HEMPSTEAD (Elizabeth's brother), to name just four.

Any serious genealogical researcher, no matter how skeptical, should be convinced of the integrity of the Elizabeth HEMPSTEAD/John PLUMBE marriage as recorded in valid historical documentation if they will only take a serious look at the evidence.

By the time Isaac Lamb arrived across the river in Groton, New London in 1696, Elizabeth Hempstead had been married to John Plumbe 7 years and had 3 children, according to multiple sources of New London, New London, Connecticut and New England vital and historical documentation.

Robbie,

I recently learned from Vickie Munn, another Lamb researcher, that there was a sister Elizabeth born around 1807. Here's what I've learned:

1.	Lamb, Matthew.
Matthew was born between 1760 and 1764. Matthew was the son of Lamb, Richard and Stephens, Elizabeth. He married Keziah Sorrels in 1795.
Children of Keziah Sorrels and Lamb, Matthew
i.	Lamb, Jacob [11]. He was born in 1797.
ii.	Lamb, Sally "Sarah" [12]. She was born before 1799-06-13.
iii.	Lamb, UNKNOWN F [13]. She was born before 1800.
iv.	Lamb, Jeremiah [14]. He was born in 1804 in Madison County, Kentucky. He died in 1855 in Madison County, Kentucky.
v.	Lamb, Elizabeth [15]. She was born in 1807.
vi.	Lamb, UNKNOWN F [16]. She was born before 1810.
vii.	Lamb, James [17]. He was born in 1811.
viii.	Lamb, Lucinda [18]. She was born on 1813-04-26. She died on 1880-06-12.
ix.	Lamb, Rebeca [19]. She was born on 1813-04-26. She died in 1880.
x.	Lamb, UNKNOWN F [1A]. She was born between 1816 and 1820.

Hi Barb,

Some time has passed, my login to this board has changed, but I promise I'm the fellow who started this topic, John Douglas "Doug" Lamb. Have picked back up on the hunt again, and found your post.

I am from the Eliza Jane Waters marriage to Wm. Riley Lamb. Their son, Shelton, was my great grandfather. I have a copy of the 1860 census in Madison Co., Kentucky which lists the following:

William R. Lamb, age 25, farmer
Jane ", age 17 yr
John ? "., age 8 yr
Timothy ", age 5 yr
Hysom ", age 3 yr
Shelton ", age 1/12 yr

I don't have much on the Jailey McAnelly marriage, but do have a poor copy of a typewritten document obtained by my brother from an unknown (to me) resource about 20 years ago. It states (re-typing as typed, with my comments in [ ] and unreadable characters denoted with * ):

"William R. Lamb was married the first time 6 Oct 1853 in Madison Co. ky to Jaily McAnelly or McIntire, the daughter of ? there children were John 1854, Timothy 1855, Hiram 18**. I think Jaily died then William married Elizabeth Jane Waters. He enlisted in the civil war25 Aug 1861 deserted 15 Aug 1863. He then moved his wife Eliza. and son Shelton to Estill co. He left John and Timothy in Madison co and took Hiram with them. Eliza Jane raised Hiram as her own child. Hiram Mar. Hannah Asbile [fuzzy, but that's what it looks like] 10 Aug 187[8 or 9?] Jackson co Ky. I have no other info about him. I have been told he moved to Ind.. Timothy Maried Mary Jane Parsons 1883 Madison co Ky moved to Garrard co. I have never been able to find out what happen to Joh.

William Riley Lamb was a farmer he died at a very young age. Eliza. Jane Waters Lamb applied for a Pension on 1 Feb. 1889 in Alcorn Kentucky saying he died from a desease that he got in the army. The pension was denied because he deserted.

Elizabeth Jane Waters never remarried after William Riley Lambs death in the 1910 cencus she was living with her Son ( child 2 of the 2nd Mar ) William Henry Lamb. I have been told she died in the early 1930,s. She was suppose to have been short thin and very dark with long black hair with not a tooth in her head. She always wor a black dress and a black sun bonnet. Alvin Lamb told me she use to walk a mile to there house when she was in her seventys. I know very little about her Mother and Father. I have pension records for her Mother who filled a dependent Mothers pension. she says she mar. Absalum Waters 1840 Rockcastle co Ky. the vital stats out of there say 1853. So there may have been a Mar. and a devorce Remarrage. Elizabeth Jane Waters had a Sister Jaily Francis born 1853 mar. **lhu Murphy and a Brother John Henry that was killed in the Civil war. That is the one that her Mother was collecting the pension on. Elizabeth jane Waters Father Absalum Waters deserted his Family again in 1854 never to be heard of again."

That's what's on this sheet, and I'm trying very hard to track down the author. I do have a copy of the application that Eliza Jane submitted for the widow's pension for William Riley after his death.

I hope this helps you somewhat, and would love to keep in touch as we learn more.

-Doug Lamb

Re: Levisa (Vicey) Lamb who married Gibson Gray in Burke Co. Georgia

Sorry I have a definite mistake in previous posting. Census Records for Burke Co. Georgia factually show that Edmund Gray and Gibson Gray were two different men. I hope I haven't cause confusion to others. In later postings in census records it factually show Levisa Lamb married to Gibson Gray. Levisa was born 1783 in Georgia; some researchers show 1785; but the 1783 date coincides with the age given in the census records [unless census taker put wrong date]. Levisa Lamb married Gibson Gray in Burke Co. Georgia in 1807. Gibson Gray moved his family further south in Georgia to Berrein Co. which later became Irwin Co. Georgia. ALSO; Edmund Gray and Gibson Gray were sons of Zachariah Ward Gray [who settled in Irwin Co. Georgia]. There were other siblings, I have more information on GRAY if anyone needs it. I'm mainly interested in learning who Levisa Lamb's parents were in Burke Co. Ga. It had to be one of the LAMB men that removed from Robeson Co. Georgia to Burke Co. Ga. So far all I have is Barnaby Lamb, Joshua Lamb, Arthur Lamb, Isaac Lamb. Hope someone can help with this mystery.

Isaac Lamb and THE DIARY OF JOSHUA HEMPSTEAD

Entries from THE DIARY OF JOSHUA HEMPSTEAD (Elizabeth Hempstead's Brother), published by the New London Historical Society:

A. Saturday, 28 Nov 1732: "...this morn Brother Jno Plumb died with a violent Cold yt Seizd him Thursd was Senet. I was Called up at 3 Clock to go to Brother Plumbs & I found him a Dying...I stayed after I help lay him out till after Sun rise..."

B. Sunday, 29 Nov 1732: "Brother Plumb was buried after meeting."

C. Monday, 4 Dec 1732: "I was al day in Town holding a court of Probate at Sister Plumbs Proving his Will..Mr Brown & Peirson to Assist."

D. Friday, 14 Sept 1733: "I was most of the day with Sister Eliza Plumb. She is exceeding ill taken yesterday..."

E. Wednesday, 19 Sept 1732: "I Set up Last night with Sister Eliz Plumb...She Dyed this morn about 7 o the Clock; 60 year old Last Christmas Eve..."

F. On the death of John Plumbe's Mother, Elizabeth Green Plumbe - Saturday, 18 Nov 1721: "Aunt Plumb died."

G. On the death of Abigail Plumbe, John and Elizabeth's daughter - Saturday, 25 Mar 1721: "In the Evening I was at Brother Plumbs. Abigail Died (7. or 8 Clock) a poor idiot."

H. Paying a visit to Amy Plumbe, wife of Joshua Plumb (son of John & Elizabeth) - Monday, 6 Aug 1750: "In the aftern I went to...See Cuzn amy Plumb..."

I. On the death of Hannah Plumbe, John and Elizabeth's daughter - Saturday 5 Oct 1720: "...I came home...Brother Plumbs Daughter Hannah, about 15 year old...died since I have been gone."

J. On the death of Hannah Harris Plumb, wife of John, son of John and Elizabeth - Wednesday, 5 Oct 1757: "Hannah Plumb wife of my Nephew John Plumb Died 50 0dd."

K. On the death of Peter Plumbe, his nephew, son of John and Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe - Wednesday, 1 February 1748/49: "Peter Plumbe my Eldest Sisters youngest Son aged about 48 was taken yesterday...I called to see him, he Expired about 2 clock morn..."

L. Please note...I mean no disrespect: When Isaac Lamb dies 12 May 1723, Joshua Hempstead makes NO entry whatever in his DIARY (dealing with Isaac's death)...on a "slow DIARY day;" (and Hempstead is faithful in recording New London deaths). Nor does he mention any burial, which he often does for his family members. In his own will, Isaac Lamb (while he does mention a wife "Elizabeth,") makes no reference whatever to the Hempsteads.

Thanks; I'm just trying to provide a corrective for the hundreds of Lamb family trees that have "borrowed" my 7th Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Hempstead, to be the wife of Isaac Lamb...lol! I'm certain Isaac married an Elizabeth; it just wasn't Elizabeth Hempstead.

Isaac Lamb did not marry Elizabeth Hempstead

Hello,

My name is Chuck Plumb, and I'm writing in reference to a fictitious marriage posted to scores of Lamb Family Trees online...the alledged marriage of Elizabeth Hempstead, daughter of Joshua Hempstead, Sr. & Elizabeth Larrabee to Isaac Lamb on 10 Jul 1687. That marriage never took place.

I'm writing because historical evidence states absolutely, overwhelmingly that Elizabeth Hempstead married John Plumbe on 13 Feb 1689. She bore him (John Plumbe) 11 children over the next 22 years. John & Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe are my 7th Great Grandparents.

Isaac Lamb married an "Elizabeth," it just wasn't "Elizabeth Hempstead." Elizabeth Hempstead didn't leave home to travel to Massachusetts at age 15 to get married. I've read his (Isaac Lambs) will, and in it he does not indicate any relationship to the Hempsteads.

My evidence for the marriage & children (John Plumbe & Elizabeth Hempstead) is documented: 1. The New London Town Records 2. The New London Vital Statistics and Barbour Records 3. The DIARY OF JOSHUA HEMPSTEAD, a journal written from 1711-1758 by Joshua Hempstead, son of Joshua Hempstead and Elizabeth Larrabee (my 8th Great Grandparents) and younger brother of Elizabeth Hempstead, the Lady in question.

In his DIARY, Joshua Hempstead has scores, actually hundreds of references to his "Brother Plumb" (John Plumbe), his sister Elizabeth's husband. The two were fellow Justices in the Court system of New London for many years. John Plumbe was a Judge, and an elder and leader at 1st Church in New London. When John Plumbe dies in 1732, Joshua Hempstead is at his bedside, and helps prepare his body for burial.

When his sister Elizabeth dies 19 Sept 1733, Joshua Hempstead writes in his DIARY: "I Set up Last night with Sister Eliza Plumb. She was all night a Dying. She died this morn about 7 o the Clock; 60 year old Last Christmas Eve."

Last year I stood over the gravestone covering John and Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe in the Ancient Burial Place in New London. It states: "Here lies the body of Mrs Elizabeth Plumb & Here lies the body of John Plumb, Esquire."

On 1 Feb 1748 Joshua Hempstead writes: "Peter Plumbe my Eldest Sisters youngest Son aged about 48 was taken yesterday with Convulsion fitts & Soon deprived of his Reason & Speech and Lyes Senseless. I called to See him, he Expired about 2 clock morn."

Peter Plumbe is my 6th Great Grandfather. Peter's birth to John & Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe (26 Dec 1700) is documented in the New London Town Records and Vital Stats.

Joshua Hempstead has one reference in his DIARY (written from 1711-1758) to Isaac Lamb. On Tuesday 18 Nov 1713 he is returning through Groton, to New London after a trip to Mystic. He records on Wednesday 18 Nov 1713 "I Lay at Isaac Lambs Last night." He does not add his trademark "Brother Lamb," which he invariably writes when referring to his Brothers-in-Law, or mention his siter Elizabeth.

Three years ago, my brother and his family walked into the Hempstead House in New London at closing time. When the curator found out who he was, he was delighted: "You're the first Plumbs I've seen in my term here at Hempstead House." He gave them a 40 minute (after hours) exclusive tour through the Hempstead House, because he knew their ancestry.

I'm writing because of my interest in genealogical and historical accuracy, and also because of the overwhelming historical evidence, which is absolutely clear.

Also, it's a little unsettling to see so many trees online recording a marriage that simply didn't exist. I have no doubt Isaac Lamb married an "Elizabeth," it just wasn't my 7th Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe.

Thanks,

Chuck Plumb

Saw your post on David Lamb of Robeson Co., NC and Carroll Co., MS. I believe he married my Kerenhappuch "Hapage" Williams from Kershaw Co., SC. Her uncle William Williams moved from Kershaw to Robeson County and married a Tilly who I believe was married to a Lamb prior to marrying William Williams. David & Hapage Lamb and William & Tilly Williams moved together from Robeson Co., NC to Carroll Co., MS during the 1830's. Also moving with them is a John McMillan and his wife who may be the brother of Tilly. If you hve any info on any of these families I would greatly appreciate it. Do you know where David Lamb or Hapage Lamb died and are buried?

My 5xgt grandfather was John Lamb. Think he may have been born in Brancepeth to Robert Lamb. John married 1) Jane Thirkell and had 2 daughters, one of which was my ancestor. John then married a 2nd time and had more children. He is buried Cockfield where he had his children with 2nd wife. His daughter from first wife was Alice Lamb 1780-1843 Cockfield. John is mentioned in his father-in-law's will of 1797.
John died 1818 Cockfield but I think he may have been born Brancepeth 1748.

Lynne Rigg

Has anyone heard from him direct? Even if he's the one who passed away in '07 that seems like a long time without any posts. Just wondering.
Gary Lamb

From the research I've done, I have found the following information:

Eugene Bradley Lamb b. Feb 1883/84 is the son of Allen L. and May Lamb. His father Allen was a farmer. Allen Lamb is my G.G. Grandfather. This family is found on the 1900 census in Lamar County, TX.

According to Eugene's obituary, there are matches for siblings. I would still like more proof through marriage records, death records, and social security records to back my findings up.

Please let me know if you have additional information.

Thanks!
Patty

Elizabeth Hempstead's Marriage, the historical account

Hello,

I'm writing because historical evidence states overwhelm-ingly that Elizabeth Hempstead married John Plumbe on 13 Feb 1689, rather than Isaac Lamb in 1687. She bore him (John Plumbe) 11 children over the next 22 years. John & Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe are my 7th Great Grandparents.

Isaac Lamb married an "Elizabeth," it just wasn't Elizabeth Hempstead. Elizabeth Hempstead didn't travel to Massachusetts at age 15 to get married.

The two were
fellow Justices in the Court system of New London for many years.

It states: "Here lies the body of Mrs
Elizabeth Plumb & Here lies the body of John Plumb, Esquire."

On Tuesday 18 Nov 1713 he is returning through Groton, to New London after a
trip to Mystic. He records on Wednesday 18 Nov 1713 "I Lay at Isaac Lambs Last night." He does not add his trademark "Brother Lamb," which he invariably writes when
referring to his Brothers-in-Law, or mention his siter Elizabeth.

Thanks,

Chuck Plumb
Henry M Lamb

History of Newton, Lawrence, Berry and McDonald counties of Missouri
1888 page 851
Henry M. Lamb, a successful tiller of the soil now residing in Jasper
County, Mo., and whose post-office is Sarcoxie, is the son of Watson
Lamb, who was born on a farm in Kentucky, and there married Miss Sallie
Snow, who bore him twelve children: James, John, Green, Alonzo,
Isaac, Doctor E., Henry M., Sarah, Adelia, Nancy, Lucy, and Levi,
who died when a young man. The father of these children moved to
Illinois and remained there one year, when he came to Benton County, Mo.,
about 1839 or 1840, and from there to Lawrence County, Mo., where he now
lives. His first wife died in 1849, and in 1852 he married Miss Polly
Willbanks, who bore him three children: Perry, Mary, and Martha.
Politically Mr. Lamb is a Republican, and in his religious views is a
Missionary Baptist. He held the office of justice of the peace in
Lawrence County, and is highly respected for his judgment and integrity.
He is now enjoying good health at the age of eighty years. Henry M. Lamb
was born January 2, 1849, and his mother died at the time of his birth.
He was reared on a farm, but did not have the advantage of an education.
At the age of fifteen he enlisted in Company C, Fifteenth Regiment
Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, and served during the war, being in many
skirmishes. He was mustered out July 15, and was honorably discharged.
In 1868 he married Miss Columbia J. Bell, daughter of John and Martha
(Burton) Bell, and to this union were born six children: Almira, Robert
E., William Bloomfield, Charles, Lizzie, and Florence, who died in
infancy. After marriage Mr. Lamb settled on a farm, and in 1879 he
purchased one. A year later he went to California, where he remained two
years, and was quite prosperous. He then returned and purchased a farm
in Lawrence County, Mo., where he lived three years, but sold out and
moved to Kansas. After living in the last named State eighteen months,
he purchased a farm in Mead County, which he still owns. In February,
1887, he purchased his present farm in Newton County, Mo., and there he
now resides. He is a Republican in politics, a member of the Cumberland
Presbyterian Church, and is a man of integrity and honesty.
W.E. Lambe

Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Southern Arkansas 1890 Goodspeed
Desha County, Arkansas page 1029
W. E. Lambe, Arkansas City, Ark. Mr. Lambe, an esteemed and respected
business man of Arkansas City, was born in Chicot County, Ark., and is
the youngest of seven children born to the marriage of Neesom and Louisa
(Davis) Lambe, natives, respective of England and Louisiana. Neesom
Lambe, who was a physician and chemist, came to America when about
twenty-five or thirty years of age, and was here married about 1836.
Later he was engaged in the practice of his profession at Grand Lake,
Ark., where he received his final summons in 1854. He was moderately
wealthy at the time of his death, and engaged in mercantile business,
also owned some real estate. Of the seven children born to his union
only three are now living: F. J. (resides in Sunflower County, Miss.),
Mary N. (wife of Samuel Frederick, of Louisville, Ky.), and W. E. After
the death of her husband Mrs. Lambe married Dr. John Thompson, of Ohio.
Previous to her marriage to Dr. Lambe she had married a Mr. Brasher. She
died in 1860. W. E. Lambe became acquainted with the details of farm
life at an early age, and during the time while occupied with the duties
of the farm attended also the common schools of Chicot County. At the
age of eighteen years he started out to fight life's battles for himself,
and first began farming on rented land, which occupation he continued for
four years. After this he engaged in the carpenter's trade, which he
followed for about five years, and for one year he was also in the
photographer's business. In 1876 he moved to Arkansas, engaged in the
liquor business for about six months, and later sold out and moved to
Washington County, Miss., where for some time he was in the saloon
business. In 1878 he was again at work at carpenter's trade, which he
continued until 1881, when he again embarked in the liquor business at
Bolivar County, Miss. After remaining there until 1886, he came to
Arkansas City, where he has since been engaged in the traffic of liquor,
and has been unusually successful, his annual sales amounting to about
$7,000. Mr. Lambe is the owner of considerable city property, consisting
of houses and lots, all the result of careful management and good
business ability. He is a member of the K. of P., Valley lodge No. 21,
and is also a member of the Uniform Rank of the order. In 1889 he was
elected alderman of the city.
Thomas C Lamb

Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Southern Arkansas 1890 Goodspeed
Drew County, Arkansas page 959
Thomas C. Lamb was born in Sampson County N. C., September 26, 1823,
being a son of John Lamb, who served in the War of 1812, being stationed
at Wilmington. Thomas C. was married on September 26, 1843, to Miss
Isabel Lamb, and the result of their union was a family of nine children,
four of whom are living: Mary Ellen Almire, Rebecca Thankful, Julia
Asha, and David Eurenus. William H. (was born October 8, 1844, and died
August 31, 1884), Thomas W. (born May 18, 1859, and died August 27,
1881), John Quitman (born December 2, 1854, and died September 14,
1863), Sarah Adaline (born December 10, 1850, and died February 20,
1889). In the year 1851, Mr. Lamb moved to Arkansas, and took up land
near Monticello, where he entered upon a career of usefulness. He hauled
the first load of dry goods to Monticello, and was one of the very first
settlers of that region. He now owns over 1,000 acres of land in Drew
County, the most of which is tillable, and over one-third under
cultivation. His labors to secure a home for himself and family were
begun at a great disadvantage, but being persevering and enterprising, he
soon began to accumulate means, and at the opening of the late war he was
in good circumstances. During the Rebellion he became deputy
quartermaster, under Maj. Latimore in the State service, and for some
time was stationed at Fulton, after which he was detailed to steamboat
service, and was captured at Poplar Bluff, on Bayou Bartholomew, this
being the only time in which he was exposed to Yankee bullets, during his
service. Soon after being captured he was paroled, and on June 4, 1865,
returned to his home to find much of his property destroyed, but he
immediately set to work to make good his losses, and has more than done
so. He is a Democrat in his political views, a Council Mason, and
although not a member of any church, he donates liberally to their
support, and is considered a useful and influential citizen in the
community in which he resides.
Also: Thomas Lamb and his daughters:
Julia Lamb married Wilton T. Grisham (~1870) went to Texas
Josie C. Lamb married Wilson C. Wingfield (Feb 1882) Nevada
County, Arkansas
Mary Lamb [daughter of Thomas and Mary] married Felix G. Davis
(1848) Chicot Co., AR

I have a little info on a Henry Lamb born about 1807 in Ohio, according to the 1850 and 1860 censuses for Findley Twp., Hancock Co., OH. He married Mary nee Leffler on 5/20/1830 in Fairfield County, OH, where Mary was residing at the time with her birth family. Henry Lamb is listed on the 1840 census for Rushcreek twp., Fairfield County, OH. The Leffler family is my husband's maternal line.

If you're sure your Lamb line didn't come to Ohio until AFTER 1851, then this family is probably NOT connected to yours.

Becki
beckiblair@hotmail.com

I have information on a possible brother of your Jacob Lamb born about 1811 in Ohio.

On the 1840 Census for Findley Twp., Hancock Co., OH, there is a Henry Lamb (born about 1807 in OH).
This Henry Lamb and Mary Leffler were married in Fairfield County, OH on 5/20/1830, which is where Mary was living with her parents, Peter and Catherine Leffler (my husband's maternal line).
Henry Lamb and his family remained in Findley twp., Hancock Co., OH through the 1860 census. If you think this line might connect with yours, I'd be happy to exchange further info with you.

Becki
beckiblair@hotmail.com

My father, known as "Bill" b/c he favored an uncle, passed away about ten years ago. He was in the Navy (the Marines) during WWII and lived his adult life in Dallas, Texas. I would be very happy to make connections with those who are interested. My follow-up email is william.lamb@yahoo.com.

Tonight as I was researching and trying to find my ancestors family information, this is what I found.

My Levisa (Vicey) Lamb born 1781 Burke Co. Ga. and died 1875 Irwin Co. Georgia. She married Edmond "Edwin" Gibson Gray born 1783 Burke Co. Ga. and died Irwin Co. Ga. Buried Brushy Creek Cemetery.

This is the only information to begin my research on the LAMB family to find her parents.
NOTE: per Julia Perkins daughter of Lula Gray Bryant. Lula told Julia that she knew Vicy Gray was a full blood Indian (Possible Creek) and she was told many many times during Lula's life. as quoted by Julia B. Perkins. and stated to Lanette Hill.
Vicy {Vica} lived to be 110 years old.
I found your entires about the LAMB family when researching and I am most interested in the notations of 'Mulatto'. As an avid genealogist I have learned from researching other families that the term mullato does not necessarily mean White and Black race. It could mean White and Indian Race, or Black and Indian Race. But the term does give us a clue that there was mixed blood lines. Also in most government census records the census taker would put mulatto if they knew the family member was of mixed blood.
Also; the Barnaby Lamb and Jacob Lamb are found in the early records of Burke Co. Georgia. You may want to take a look at the Burke Co. Ga. records to get more information on your Barnaby Lamb.
Any way, do you possibly have any notations for my Levisa (Vicey) Lamb in your records? Any help would be so much appreciated?

Lamb Family of Cornwall -- St Veep, Lanteglos, Fowey, Polruan, Duloe, etc.

I am looking to collaborate with serious genealogists researching the Lamb Family of south central Cornwall, centered around St Veep. Parish records for the Lambs are relatively scarce, but I have recently recieved and reviewed 10 Wills from 1706 to 1855. I am trying to develop and refine the Lamb Family Tree and push it back further in time. Please contact me if you would like to share information.

I have been blessed with information on this precious family by the descendants of Harvey Lamb. I have copied many pictures of Iva Zimmerman daughter of Gemima and Fred Zimmerman, and pictures of Robert and Annie Lamb I gave a friend to give to my Pollok cousin. Perhaps a Cd full of pictures as well soon. Seems annie and Robert spent a lot of time with Gemima and Harvey when younger. Many pictures I have enjoyed. I am glad I did this for my cousin.
