Elizabeth Lamberson, wife of George LAMBERSON Killed in 1912

...from the archives in Oklahoma City, OK:

The Daily Oklahoman
Tuesday
06-18-1912
p.12/12

MRS LAMBERSON KILLED AT DENVER

Mrs Elizabeth Lamberson, for many years a resident of Oklahoma City,
who now resides in Denver, Colo, was run down and killed by an auto
truck in that city last Saturday. Mrs Lamberson stepped in front
of the machine from the curb and never recovered consciousness after
the machine had struck her.

At the time of Mrs Lamberson's death, neither her daughter who lives
in the country near Denver nor her husband, who was employed in
construction work somewhere in the city, could be located by the
police or hospital authorities. The only relative to be found was
her mother, 91 years old, who makes her home at 1420 Washington.
Because of this woman's advanced age an effort is being made to keep
from her the knowledge of her daughter's death for fear the shock
might prove fatal.

The deceased, who was 55 years old, was the wife of George Lamberson,
a carpenter, one daughter, Miss Myrtle Lamberson, was graduated from
the Oklahoma City highschool in 1907, and another daughter, Mrs
Ben Bergman (hard to read), lived at 1814 West First street, this
city, until last March.

***posted for genealogical purposes only; no relation***

I am look for info on Richard Lamerson,Lamberson,Lambertson. He was born about 1804 in Pennsylvania. I cant find a record of who he married. But he had7 children we can find. mary abt 1831, John and William (twin boys) sbt 1834, Martha abt 1842, Mary A abt, Francis 1844-1918, and Andrew abt 1846. All the children were born in Virgina. We have reason to believe in Shenandoah. We know Francis went on to marry Mary E Howell around 1871 and they had 12 children, 2 did by 1900. Please any info out there would help.

Seeking any information on these brothers. Their father is unknown. Their mother was Louella "Ella" Wood, daughter of John B and Susan "Emma" (Sewell) Wood. The couple was married, likely in MO ca 1890's and this is where the boys may have been born. Ella was from Taney Co MO, but they were living in Isabella, Ozark Co MO prior to removing to Indian Territoy (later OK) in 1898. Ella's parents died in Catoosa. Ella, her parents and 3 sisters are buried in Catoosa. Ella is listed as "widowed" in the 1910 census and she and her boys are living with her mother and sisters in Catoosa. Ella died in 1929. Glen Lamberson likely died in Tulsa in 1968. Any information on any of these family members is appreciated.

I am transcribing the Evergreen Cemetary in Ontario, Malheur Co., Oregon and thought I would post pictures of the Pre-1900 headstones for those interested in having them. This is a very large cemetary, there is a possibility there could be other family members buried here after this time period. If you are interested in them, I can look for them specifically.

I notice that in several people's information on Lawrence Lamberson that they include an unnamed child or son, some say born in 1775.

I have today seen reference of a Richard Lamberson of Bedford Co.,PA, who was newly married and had a son named Samuel but died in a barn raising there before 1792.

As there were no other Lambersons.Lmbertsons/Lamisons/etc. in this particular county during that time, I am compelled to ask of those who have better information what the source is of the information indicating Lawrence Lamberson had an unnamed son as indicated.

Could anyone with source information on this Lawrence Lamberson's children, and particularly this unnamed child, please reply or contact me with the details of this child?

Thanks,

Greg Lamberson
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~glamberson/

Levi Lamberson was born in Maryland about 1795 of English descent. He married Sarah "Sally" Mason (date and location unknown but probably Maryland) and had relocated to Fayette County, Indiana before 1850 Census. Relocated again to Clinton County, Indiana shortly after 1850. Children included William, Amy, Eliza, Peter b abt
1826, Hettie and Mary b abt 1832. According to 1850 census at least children Peter and Mary were born in Maryland also. The family may have lived in other locations between Maryland and Indiana. Does anyone have information on this group?

I am seeking information on an unknown Lamberson (possibly John?) who married Louella "Ella" Wood, daughter of John B and (Susan) Emma Wood. They migrated to Catoosa, Indian Territory (near Tulsa) ca late 1890's They may also have lived in Pawnee, OK and Mr. Lamberson may have had a brother, James. Ella died in 1929 and is buried in the Duck Cemetery in Catoosa. Any information on this family appreciated.

Children of Lilly Lamberson

Lilly had nine children. Grover is my Grandfather. He had eight siblings. The oldest was Emily whose nickname was “Nell,” then Emory was born. Third was Amos whose nickname was “Doc” and fourth was John. Next came William whose nickname was “Bill” and Walter whose nickname was “Walt”. Seventh was Peter and eighth was Robert who died in 1918 from the Spanish Influenza. After Grover was born in 1892, his nickname became “Ed”.

Peter Hess and Lilly Lamberson Hess moved to Oklahoma from Indiana. They were farmers and Oklahoma was being settled at that time, so the land was free to people who were willing to settle there. They made the famous land run on the Cherokee Strip and settled a farm near Enid, OK.

So glad to find Lori Miller and Cindy Hess - Davis. Cindy is also Grover's gran-daughter, great gran-daughter of Lilly. I will share information and photos and hope to learn more about the Lambersons.
Their daughter, my g-grandmother, Frances (aka Fanny, FanLib and mistakenly Annie on 1 census) told me that there was a Native connection on her mother's side.

Any info appreciated

Lamberson: Kentucky>Posey Twsp., Fayette Co., Indiana>Rush Co. Indiana>Henry Co. Indiana

If anyone can help me with a couple of descendant lines marrying into the Vickery family.

I have Ira Lamberson, b. abt. April 1845 in Indiana, father born in Kentucky, married Malinda M. Vickery in Rush Co., Indiana September 27, 1871, had at least two children, a Maude Lamberson, b. February 1881, who might have married a Herman Thomas, and then a son born January 1888, census hard to read, but name could have been Paul Lamberson. In 1900 lived in Posey Twsp., Fayette Co., Indiana, in 1920 lived in Rush Twsp., Washington Co., Indiana.

Then Malinda J. Vickery, sister of Malinda, married a David C. Port, and in Henry Co., Indiana we find if I have the correct family, his daughter Lizzie Port marrying a Legrove Lamberson, b. July 1862 in Indiana, they appear to have at least two children in the censuses that I have found, a Nellie Lamberson who might have been born in either July or December 1893, could have married a Frank Paulin, and then a son who was born between 1901-1902, who's name may have been Marcus Lamberson.

Please note: This information in this query may not be accurate. I am simply investigating this descendant line from my cousin Sarah Long who married Salathiel Vickery, and trying to find out what the facts are. Any help would be much appreciated.

Ray and Leona Lamberson

I am searching for information concerning Leona Lamberson's ancestors. According to a letter written by her in 1981, from The Dalles, OR, she was taken in by the William Columbus and Martha (Clark) Stroud family, of Bourbon Co., KS, at the age of 9 months. She had a vast knowledge concerning the Stroud and Clark families, of which I'm researching. Nothing was heard from her after her letter so she may have passed away but no record has been found.

In the letter, she mentioned that her birth mother had died and left 5 children. Her father raised the other 4 on his own. She also mentioned a sister (name unknown) who lived in Carmichael, CA.

I would be happy to share what I have on this family with other descendants, as well as a copy of Leona's letter. I can be reached at ramac@teleport.com or through this posting.

Thank you,
Anita

I am looking for information on William Lamberson's parents. The William I am related to was born Jan. 1800 in NJ (we think Sussex Co.). He eventually moved to Tioga, NY and married Clymenia Taber. The Tabers are documented back to the 1600s in MA. I know of no siblings for William. We pretty good data on things forward since the family lived and stayed in Tioga NY until after the Civil War.

Any information would be appreciated.

But here are the facts I have been handed down: Isaac was born 12 May 1814 and died 13 May 1882. He was married to a woman by the name of Martha (born 30 June 1821 and died 17 Dec 1893). And to my knowledge they had only one child: Barbara Ann Lamberson (born 12 Jan 1837 or 1838).
I would love to discover his parents and any other information on this family. I am trying to find out when my family first came to the United States and complete my geneological search.
