DURANT, Iowa -- Julius J. Lambert, 75, Durant, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Davenport.

Services are at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wilton. The Rev. Brian Shepley will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Bev Reuter and vocalists, Henry Bentley and Andrea Rathjen. Pallbearers are Walt Lambert Jr., Jim Lambert, Darwin Riessen, Vernon Riessen, Frank Proske, Rebecca Quilhot and Glenn Swanson. Honorary pallbearers are Rene Dekwae, Renae Brooks, Stacy Brooks, Emily Martz, Joe Gruemmer and Matt Gruemmer. Burial will be at the Durant Cemetery, Durant, with military honors conducted by the Walcott American Legion Post No. 548.

Visitations are at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant; Memorials may be made to the Durant Ambulance and to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mr. Lambert was born on Feb. 13, 1928, in East Moline, Ill., the son of Rene and Elvira Strobbe Lambert. He married Jean L. Otto on Nov. 23, 1957, in Davenport.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He farmed his entire life in Muscatine County.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Walcott American Legion No. 548, Muscatine County Farm Bureau, Muscatine County Pork Producers and the River Valley Coop, Stockton.
He loved family, agriculture and farming.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Lambert of Durant; three daughters, Jill Brooks and her husband, Terry, of Durant, Joan Martz and her husband, David, of Blue Grass, and Janet Gruemmer and her husband, Mick, of Durant; a sister, Marian Flaherty and her husband, Dan, of Davenport; three granddaughters, Stacy Brooks, Renae Brooks and Emily Martz; two grandsons, Joe Gruemmer and Matt Gruemmer; and a cousin, Rene' Dekwae of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Walter Lambert Sr.

Lytle Lambert, 88, of Eliza, Illinois, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Rev. Bishop of the Joy United Methodist Church will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Eliza Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Eliza Community Church in memory of Lytle.

Francis Lytle Lambert was born on July 13, 1918 in Eliza, Illinois the son of Ora Lorn and Sarah 'Leona' (Pulliam) Lambert. Lytle attended the Center School; a one-room schoolhouse that taught grades one through eight. In 1936, Lytle graduated from Aledo High School.

Lytle joined the US Navy serving as a 1st Class Petty Officer during WWII from 1942 until 1945. On December 22, 1943, Lytle was united in marriage to Velma Anderson in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Lytle then farmed the rest of his life in the Eliza area with his dad, Ora and his wife, Velma. Lytle also served as the Town Clerk for Eliza Township for many years. He was a member of the Eliza Community Church, and the Muscatine American Legion. He loved spending time with his family, especially at his 4th of July gatherings at the farm. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife at their home in Florida and going to Card Club.

Lytle will be deeply missed by his wife, Velma of 63 years; three children, Francis L. Lambert and his wife, Joyce of Rock Island, IL, Thomas L. Lambert and his wife, Mary Ann Bramhall-Lambert of Muscatine, and Suzanne Yeast and her husband, Jay of West Liberty; and seven grandchildren, Erin Lambert, Alex Lambert, Dylan Bramhall, Maren Bramhall, Cole Lambert, Heather Yeast and Ross Yeast.

Lytle was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Keith Lambert; and one sister, Marilynn Lambert
