I am hoping to locate complete and legible copies from the family Bible of Sarah Emmons Nobles. I understand that the time period is mainly from the 1830's through the 1850's and that the following families are shown in the family record section: LAMBETH, Emmons, Nobles, Malphurs, Howard, Baggett, White, Wiggins, and Stanton. Won't you please get in touch? Many thanks!

Alexander C Lambeth

B May 1930 Kentucky (per 1900 Census).

Alexander (Often listed as "A. C.") appears in Denver from 1885, until at least 1910. (State and Federal Census, plus Denver City directories.)

In 1880, he's living in Pettis County Missouri. I can find no trace of him before this time.

His wife's name was Elizabeth (maybe "Lizzie"), surname unknown. The 1900 Census lists a Grandson "Claude C. Lambeth". There is a "James A Lambeth" (1837 Missouri - 1898 Denver) listed as Alexander's son. James seems the most likley candidate for Claude's father ... but I can't prove it.

Claude is my great-grandfather, so I have a great deal more information on with

If anyone can help with this major road block is my research, I'd be grateful. I like to find Alexander's ancestor, and perhaps show what the connection is between Alexander and Claude.

This branch doesn't seem to be in the Lambeth/Lambert book at all ...

Sorry I haven't been able to find a Benjamin Lafayette Lambeth in my line. My ggggrandfather Moses, had two brothers, Samuel and Joseph, who had named sons Benjamin. Perhaps their middle names could be Lafayette for several reasons. Moses served with George Washington's troops in the Revoluntary War and there was a Marquis de Lafayette who also served with him. Perhaps he was really impressed.
Also, my ggggrandmother Tabitha, had a cousin named Lafayette, but he was a Loftin. Again, sorry I couldn't help.
Ginger Henderson

Guess your husband and I are distant cousins. Samuel L and Mary were my 2nd Great Grandparents. Daniel was my Great Grandmother Louisa's, brother. When I visited her grave in 2002,I also visited Daniel's and Nancy's at Pointer's Creek Cemetery outside Linn. What I am trying to do is to get a picture of their daily lives. Exactly where they lived, what they did, and why they made the decisions to move from Craven to the Piedmont, to Bledsoe TN, and then MO. I think I do know the latter. In my research I found Samuel had a store on the crossroads from Kentucky and the road from Knoxsville to Sparta. It was called Lambeth's Crossroads, then. It is now Crossville in Cumberland Co. It was on the main road west and I think it just got too much for him to see everyone going, so he went too. However, it seems some of his family may have gone before. If Daniel and Nancy were married in MO in 1838, they must have gone before him, so he followed. After all, Mary had passed away already, at least she wasn't in the 1840 census. The Merrill's I know little about except Daniel Merrill was in the Reovluntary War. I'd like to know more about him and his ancestors.
My biggest question is this the Lambeth Family from New Jersey? Any help would be appreciated. Ginger Henderson

It has been a few years since I have done any Lambeth research, but your message has familiar names.

My daughter-in-law is the 2nd great-granddaughter of Benjamin Layfeyette (sic) Lambeth and Mary Elizabeth Shockley. Benjamin was born ca 1854, place unknown. There seems to be some confusion about the identity of this person and about his parents.

He may be the son of Joseph Marion (or Unton) Lambeth and Rhoda/Rhonda Louden; or his mother may be Rebecca Davis/Allen, the second wife of Joseph. Some sources do not name a Benjamin as a son of Joseph; one source shows a Benjamin Lee, another a Lea but no Benjamin.

Do you have anything that might shed light on this Benjamin Layfeyette Lambeth?

Robert Lambeth is buried in the Greene Park Cemetery, Greene Co.Ark. The 1860,1870,1880 census has Robert listed as a doctor. He was living in Craighead Co.Ark. in the 1860 census therefore I doubt he was in the CSA. His father, Amos died 4-6-1864, at the age of 64, therefore he was to old to have served. To my knowledge none of Robert's siblings served in the CSA because they were all out west before the war begun.

Thank you so much Elaine! This is great and if it we're right all the way back to Robert thats 5 generations from my husband's grandfather. It makes 9 from our 2 grandchildren to John!
I really do apprciate your coming to my rescue,

Now, do you have any Livengoods up your sleeve? I guess I had better get busy on them. My husbands grandmother was Emily Celestine Livengood (Married Lambeth). Her father was Absolom b.1832 at Mt Tabor d. l900. Her mother was Paulina Saylor b & d unknown.
Did I have this on my original query? I should have read it.
If so forgive an old lady's forgetfullness, please.
Thank you so much for what you have done for us.
Best regards,
marthajane
To MaryJaneSmith: Re. your request for information about Lorenzo Lambeth, my "second hand" info says that he is the sone of Samuel Lambeth Jr. and his second wife Rachel Myers. This records says there were 7 children by this marriage: Dudley, Lorenzo, Benjamin, Mary, Samuel, Frances and Martha. This Samuel was born in 1770 and died in 1848. He was the Son of Samuel and (unknown). Samuel Sr. was born in 1732 and died in 1794. He was the son of John David (Lambert) Lambeth and Sarah Heath. John was born 1703 and died in 1732. He was probably the son of Robert Lambert and Eleanor ?

Perhaps you can get definitive information from someone closer to the facts. Elaine

Donna, my great grandmother was Louisa Lambeth, twin sister to Lucinda. They were born in Bledsoe Co. TN. 28th May, 1831. At least that's the date on my great grandmother's marker. Their parents were Samuel L. Lambeth, b.1783 in Craven C., NC, d. 1873 Osage Co. MO. and Mary Merrill, b. 1786 Randolph Co. NC, d. 1840 in Bledsoe Co. TN. After Mary's death my great great grandfather moved to Crawford Township, Osage Co. MO According to the Osage Co. Historical Society, Samuel's parents were Moses Lambeth and Tabitha Loftin.
My great grandmother married Henry James E. Cox in Linn, MO. My grandmother, Tabitha married Samuel B. Pendell. My father was also born in Osage Co. MO.
I have been confused about so many Samuel's in the family. Also, I need to know more about the Merrill side. Maybe you can help me out. I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Ginger
Cora Jane Duncan married William Benjamin Lambeth on 20 August 1898 in Rolla, Missouri. They had 9 children, one son who died at birth, two sons - Roland and Leroy - who died in swimming accidents at the age of 19, a daughter - Mary - who died at age 3 and five daughters who married and had children of their own: Beulah, Siegel, Lucy, Hazel, and Helen. I have two photographs dating about 1915-1920: a studio picture of the girls and a snapshot of the oldest son and four of the girls with their mother. If anyone is interested in having a copy of them, just let me know.
Norma

Is this some error perpetuated throughout the family? Were Lytle and Elizabeth a "couple." Are these two girls really his?
Eddie was born 20 Aug 1897. Could this be your ggrandfather? His father was listed as Lorenzo Lambeth, I recently found a Carl Lambeth who fit also. Maybe it was Lorenzo Carl? He was married to Susan Long. That's as far as our records go. If you make a connection please share what you find with me. Good hunting! marthajane
