Antoine Lamie who was born in Illinois in 1862, then moved to S Dakota is a brother to my Great-Grandfather, Joseph Lamie(born 1866 in St. Anne, Kankakee County,Illinois. Their parents were Antoine Lamie and Caroline Houle married June 19, 1853 at Maternity of the Blessed Virgin, Bourbonnais, Illinois. I have a family picture of Antoine Sr., his second wife and children. Antoine came to Illinois from Canada in 1840.Antoine was born in Louisville,Quebec, Canada on October 7, 1832.
I have worked on my surname(Lamie) since 1977. I have traced this branch of the Lamie name to Normandy France. They arrived in Canada in the 1670's. I have lots of information.
