Antoine Lamie who was born in Illinois in 1862, then moved to S Dakota is a brother to my Great-Grandfather, Joseph Lamie(born 1866 in St. Anne, Kankakee County,Illinois. Their parents were Antoine Lamie and Caroline Houle married June 19, 1853 at Maternity of the Blessed Virgin, Bourbonnais, Illinois. I have a family picture of Antoine Sr., his second wife and children. Antoine came to Illinois from Canada in 1840.Antoine was born in Louisville,Quebec, Canada on October 7, 1832. <br> I have worked on my surname(Lamie) since 1977. I have traced this branch of the Lamie name to Normandy France. They arrived in Canada in the 1670's. I have lots of information.

For my American Studies class, I am suppose to do research on my family tree. I really don't know a whole lot about this side of my family. I believe that my great grandparents (or maybe great great) were Alfred Lamie and Jennie Plamondon. If anyone is descended from them, and knows some info about what part of France that they were from, and info like that, please e-mail me!

Emelie Lamy/Lamie

Seeking information on Emelie Lamy/Lamie who married Toussaint (John) Chagnon in Great Falls, New Hampshire on 9 February 1869. Great Falls is now Somersworth, New Hampshire. Emelie was born circa 1847 and died in Winnipeg, Manitoba at age 39. Two Children (George Josephine) born of this marriage in New Hampshire prior to 1873 when they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Suspect that maybe they were originally from Quebec. Does anyone have any further information?
