I was recently reading a book on North Easthope Township, Perth County, Ontario, Canada and found Alex and John left Perthshire Scotland in 1837 on Lady Lake ship...Landed in New York and came to Canada, and changed their names to
McGillawee....
Is this a translation, or pulled from the hat?? Just curious if anyone has ideas....
