As I am trying to locate possibly photographs of my Great Grandparents Barbara and Charles Lamp, also my grandfather William F. Does anyone have any info about Joshua. I have his death certificate that was filled out at Weston State Hosp. No relatives are named. I was trying to figure out who his parents were and what his wife's name was. He lived in Tyler Co. The place of burial, as far as I can make out, looks like State Ceme. in Weston. My uncle's notes say that one of Andrew and Pleasy Ann Givens' daughters married a Givens. They had a daughter named Nancy J. whose age matches this Nancy.

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Leland J. "Mike" Lamp, 67, of Muscatine, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at Unity Hospital.

Services will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Darryl Erickson of the Grandview Community Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Steve Bryant, Ronald Bryant, Jerry Lamp, Tom Hammer, Steve Hyink, and Steve Hammer. Honorary pallbearers will be Berry Bryant, Harvey Roswell and Robert Bryant. Burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery.

Mr. Lamp was born on June 20, 1933, in West Liberty, the son of Joseph and Frances Krotz Lamp. He married Jan Kannada on July 28, 1956 in Wilton.

Mike loved to fish and play pool. He owned Leland Lamp "Mike’s" Machine Shop from 1973 until the time of his death, semi-retiring in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Lamp of Muscatine; four daughters, Karron Stineman and her husband, Dennis, of Grandview, Anita Gilchrist and her husband, Robert, of Grandview, Lori Lamp of Muscatine, and Lisa Wilson and her husband, Kevin, of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Janean Stineman, Beau Hartsock, Myka Gilchrist and Averi Wilson; a great-grandson, Brandon Stineman; two brothers, Jim Lamp and his wife, Delores and Pat Lamp and his wife, Marjanna; and a sister, Rosemary Bryant and her husband, Robert, of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, in infancy; a grandson, Eric Stineman; and two sisters, Betty Longstreth and Kathleen Cockeriel.

I just had a son whom I named Jacob. My
father informed me that it is a family name
and that my gr.,gr.,gr. grandfather was
Jacob Lamp (or Lampe) ,born on april 15, 1794
in Richie County VA. and was buried in
Licking County, Oh. I've been able to find
out that his fathers name was Heinrich Lampe
(according to the Morman geneology web site)
but I can't find any info on his mother or
Heinrich. My father believes that the
Lamp(e)'s were German who came through
Holland before immigrating to America. Any

Willem Lamp of Haarlem, Holland

I have a Willem Lamp who married my mother-in-law about 1944. Willem was the youngest of 8 children. He was born Dec. 2, 1882 in Haarlem, Holland. His parents lived in Haarlem Holland but I think they were from Germany and did not like the politics of that time period and so moved to Haarlem. The family owned a fine china/gift type business.

Willem came to the United States in 1917 with his wife Josephine and they settled in Clarksville, TN where he was a tobacco exporter for European market. After his wife died at age 31 he remarried a lady named Dorthory. After that marriage ended he married a 3rd time to my mother-in-law, Mary Rives Proctor.

Willem died in Clarksville in Nov. 1978. I wish I knew more about him. I hope someone can fit him into their Lamp family.

Does anyone know the connection between Rachel Ellen Williams Lamp and Floyd Collins of "died in cave" fame?

Floyd Collins went into a cave by himself and was gone for days when they finally started looking for him. They tried to rescue him, but he died there in the cave. Grandma Lamp visited that cave often, and another family member has pictures of her standing outside.

After much searching I have finally found out that my biological grandfather married someone and had another child. His wife's name was Mabel Sellers Lamp whom has since passed away. HIs other daughters name is Kathleen Garrison. She is supposedly living in Weirton, W.VA, but I have been unable to locate her. Herman Lamp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamp, was born on their farm place on October 1, 1893. Herman was the only boy in a family of six. He married Louise Petersen December 20, 1917 and she passed away Octboer 1918. In 1921 he married Elsa Petersen and they are residing on the farm. Except for a vacation now and then, Herman can be found on this farm place, which has been "home" to him for 75 years.

Harold Randolph Lamp (born 1890??? died 1970 in Ohio) was my Greatgrandfather. He msrried Lora Mae Scott. What I was told he had 3 sons and one daughter. Delburn, Harold Leroy, Carlos, and a daughter (died young.) Harold R. and family moved from WV to Ohio when my Grandpa (Harold Leroy Lamp b.3/10/1926 was) young. My Grandpa moved to Michigan and married my Grandma (Murtle Unavee Rhyne.) They then moved to Kokomo, IN and had 4 children. My Grandpa died when I was 3 years old and my parents do not know any other info. They had met my Grandpa's mother and father and his brother Carlos. I do know Carlos has passed on and I fear Delburn has also. I do not know Carlo's or Delburn's children so I have no other link to the ancestry. If anyone has any clue, please let me know. I am trying to reserch my ancesters. My Grandfather is Harold Leroy LAMP (b 3/10/1926). His Parents were Harold Randolph LAMP (b 2/17/1890 ? and died in 1970's) and Lora Mae SCOTT (b. ???). Harold Leroy LAMP siblings were: Delburn LAMP, Carlos LAMP, and a sister that died young. When my Grandpa was young they moved from West Virginia to Ohio(I think Millersburg?). At some point and for some reason my Grandpa had to leave Ohio. He went to Michigan (married my Grandmother) and moved to Kokomo, IN. I know his parents came here to Kokomo and visited alot. This is all the info I have and can get. Grandma only knows his parents and his brothers names. I know Carlos died before my Grandfather. Grandpa died in 1979. I tried to telephone Delburn (not sure if its the right Delburn) but no one called me back. If anyone has any info please contact me. There is a whole new generation here who wants to know were we came from. We want to know the other LAMPs.

John and Martha LAMP show up in the 1880 census for Washington Twp., Carroll Co., IL which shows both of them born in Oldenburg, Germany with 7 children also born in Oldenburg, Germany. They lived next door to George KEYSER and his family which included his parents John KEYSER and Anna M. KEYSER, my gr gr grandparents.
Next to George lived Albert C. WESTPHAL who married John Keyser's daughter Anna and their children. Albert and Anna WESTPHAL were my great grandparents.
I think Martha LAMP was my great grandmother's older sister. Does anyone have information on any of these families?

My grandmother, Rachel Ellen Williams, married Sanfran Cisco Lamp. Her parents were Abraham Williams and Laura Collins. I know she had at least one sister and probably a brother.
