I am a Lamport, originally from Illinois. I am trying to piece together my roots and hope you can help.

1. Mark Alan Lamport (1955-), born in Illinois, son of
2. Donald Keith Lamport (1927-1997), born in Illinois, son of
3. Varley Harold Lamport (1905-1996), born in Illinois, son of
4. Asby McClure Lamport (1878-1965, born in Ohio, son of
5. George Wheaton Lamport (1833-1899), born in Ohio, son of
6. Joseph Lamport, possibly married to Josephine (Wheaton) Lamport--that is all the information I have.
Interesting notes:
1. I have been to Lamport, England--a very small village 75 miles north, northeast of London.
2. There are a number of Jewish Lamports both in the US and Russia.
