My name is Debby Hisey, and Mrs. Gwendolyn Lampshire Hayden was my music and library teacher for 12 years in Creswell Oregon from 1958 - 1970. I worked with her in the libary on many occasions and have some wonderful pictures of her that I would be willing to share. I do genealogy but as this is not my line, I don't have information on anyone but her.

Jeannette Bill Lampshire

Seek information on Jeanette Bill and husband Harry Lampshire. Which Harry Lampshire is he?

I found them listed on the Ancestry.com under "U.S. Indian Census Schedule 1885-1940" for the state of Washington.
This schedule shows them living on the Muckleshoot Reservation.

This census does not give a birth date, birth place or parents for Harry. Jeanette was born 1914 in Washington, USA and died 1980 in Clackamas County, Washington.

Jeanette is on the 1930 federal census living with her mother Clara L. Simmonds, step-father Atken B. Simmonds and brother Willard L. Bill in Grayland, Grays Harbor, WA. They are all listed as "IN" (Indian) not "W" (white.)

Is this Harry Lampshire Native American? If he was not, was he living on the reservation because his wife was Native American? Or if not Native American, perhaps he was allowed to live on the reservaton if he was working there?

Seek information on family of Martha & Stephen Lampshire of Harney Co, Oregon. Stephen died 1911.
Three sons: Henry O., Edwin J. and James J. - all born in Cornwall, England.
Edwin married Grace Brown and they had daughter Gwendolyn.
Edwin died and Grace married his brother James and they had one daughter Stephanie.

I am having problems with Nicholas Bice who may have fathered a child with an Elizabeth May Nicholas Bice b. 1817. This Nicholas b. 1817 is the actual person I am interested in. The only connections I have are from on line sources of parish registers and transcripts. Sorry I cannot be of further help to you.

We live in Tasmania - surname Ashford.

I have been researching my husbands family.
His materal grandmother was Annie Eva Lampshire b.1877- (one of nine)
she married Nicolas Hockin Ashford b.1879 and migrated to New Zealand 1908 with som gerald and daughter Gwendoline.

Annie's father was William Lampshire b.abt 1842 (one of eight)and her mother was Catherine Eva b. abt 1844 both Kenwyn District (around Newquay), Cornwall.

I have names going back further taken from another family tree in One World Tree - I have not peraonally confirmed back further than the above though

Not sure if you fit in with any of this.

Annie was my husband's grandmother.

Addie & William Lampshire lived in Salina, CO in the late 1890s. William had a brother Henry (who was killed in a mine in 1894), and another brother Alfred. Henry was buried in Silver Plume, CO where his mother lived and died (ca. 1897).

Did she have a sister named Rebecca? I have a Rebecca Lampshire m/Nicholas Bice and am trying to find confirmation of her family. They came from Cornwall in about 1849. Later moved on to Grass Valley, Nevada, California. Thanks for resonding. Bob

We have been researching this Chapman family and have hit various walls. Would like to contact people in these families. We have found Census records for most of the individuals listed as well.

I am trying to find out If she had a son who died when he was 1 or 2 this is what we heard but have no proof...no name no cemetary where he is burried or anything. We don't even know what hospital he was born in. If anyone has any kind of information how we would go about finding this out please message me. Thank You!

thank you for the info on the 1891 census i think that william might have been ansister but just could put him in to my family tree yet. as i really need to know more about john lampshires dad john the william on the 1891 census could have been john's dad 's dad so i will keep the info you have sent to me with the hope that one day i can fit it in thanks again for the info lorraine

The only further info I found was that he died in Fresno, CA in 1971. I know there are 2 medium security prisons near there, so I think (purely supposition) that he died in prison for the murder.

have you found any more info on frank heslen??? my maden name is heslen but i dont have alot of info on them? my dads name was james and he had a brother named frank but they are all gone now so i know what you mean by sherlock holms.

I came across a Harry Lampshire in the Iowa State Penitentiary in 1870-80. Wonder if he is related? He was sent from Fayette Co, IA to the prison which was situated in Jones County, IA.

Seeking information on death of William Francis Lampshire of Mineral Point,WI who died at the County Poor Farm in Linden, WI. Death was in Feb. 1870. Would like information on the poor farm. William was born in Cornwall, England. William and his wife Ann had 5 children: Josiah, Henry Francis, Charles Francis, Mary Ann, Ann who were all born in Cornwall, England. Henry Francis and Josiah moved with their families to Colorado.

That story was the only one I have heard regarding the origin of the name. Also, I was only told that story by one Englishman. No one else has ever given me an explanation or story.
