We are on the Jones side in Illinois.

Where were you able to get the names and dates for the Loomis'? Still trying to confirm I am on the right track and these are actual ancestors.

Thanks.

If you still have access, you may want to look at the Thomas O'Connor family tree, it has some info you may be interested in. Thanks again!

No, I never recieved a reply to this post. Since I posted this I have learned that she spells her last name Lamson. Oren's father was Caleb Loomis, his grandfather was Jacob Loomis, his great grandfather was Caleb Loomis, and his great, great grandfather was Caleb Loomis - I have no evidence that he was Abraham Caleb Loomis.

If you are still interested in this line, I have a couple of Lam*son Research sites (free) that have a lot of material on this family and their descendants, along with other relatives and descendants of this line.

1. Global Lamson Family History site athttps://www.ancestryhost.org/lamson ( Left menu, last item--Register for a user account or email me for a login) This is an interactive pedigree site, with linked pedigrees, photos, documents, etc where you can add your line and edit it. It is private and needs a login.

2. MyFamily Lam*son Research Site. Email me for a login. This site has postings, queries, photos, files, news and members contact but no linked pedigrees.

Thanks,
Pat Walker, Admin

She may have been adopted. She was living and teaching in Snohomish, WA around 1904 when she married my great grandfather Bruce Lampson. He was born Sept. 21, 1880 I think in Goldendale, WA. They lived in the Tri-City area of Washington. If anyone has any info on Alice, please let me know.
Thank you.

Dear Helen,

Your English is easy for me to read. I only had one year of French so that would be much, much worse for me to try to write it. If you want to email me, I can find that Locker Tree that Jack gave me. I am not related to the Lockers, only the Lampson--my 3rd great grandfather was a brother to Sir Curtis M Lampson, father-in-law to Frederick Locker (Lampson).

I may be able to scan the tree and put it together to send you a scan via email. Can you receive *.jpg attachments? If so, I can email that to you -- if it goes beyond STephen Locker. I also am in touch with Stephen Locker-Lampson, Jack's brother who may have more information on the Locker tree.

My email:

lampwalk@yahoo.com

Thank you,
Sincerely,
Pat

I never went to Rowfant. My aunt Alice Marey Locker was friend with Jonathan Locker-Lampson and went to Rowfant. I don't understand if you are of the Lampson family, do you descend of what side? I have a genealogical tree there is the descendants. I have a book on written Rowfant House by Margaret Petersons but I don't have it greatly read because I dont'speak English very well. My genealogical researches go up again until Stephen Locker, the great grand father of Frederick and after me doesn't know nothing
cordially
helend3hh@free.fr

If anyone has any info on the family or possibly the event that brought these people together I would appreciate a message. Thanks

I have a Lampson website where there are over 200 Lampson members logged on--some of them may be relatives of Frank and son, Neil. If you have not received a reply, I would be glad to post the pictures on the website so that when family members do log on, they will be able to have them. This website has been in existence for over 7 years!

Thank you for posting this type of information and would, as well, be interested in the Neil Lampson family. Actually, when Billie Jane was still living, she emailed me and was a member of our website. Email me at lampwalk@yahoo.com and you may also get a free log-in to the site, if you wish.

Do you have access to a scanner to scan and email me the images of the pictures and articles?

I was re-reading posts by other descendants, including one related to Billie Jane Markham spouse of Neil Lampson? who had traced this line back to an Ebenezer Lampson and would like to verify that and include that information.

I just received information from an English relatives saying he received a letter from Wisconsin Historical society that perhaps we are related to the Jonas T Lampson, son of Phillip, so I am doing more investigating into where Phillip went when he first came to Ohio in 1820's--or was he born there? I found one reference that said he migrated there, but Census records say he was born there, so maybe he migrated to Athens County in 1820 and not just to Ohio

I had a William Lampson who fought in Rev War and his sons ended up in Quebec, Canada and always wondered if there could be a connection. But I don't have my William's parents or siblings. Could you perhaps send me what you know about John Lampson and maybe I can see some parallels somewhere?

I am familiar with William Locker. In my pursuit of Locker-Lampson history for a Lampson family book I published, I did much research on Frederick and his children. In so doing, I visited Rowfant twice and met Jack Locker-Lampson who presented me with a Locker Family pedigree. I have also since found the illustrious portrait of William Locker by Gilbert Stuart (facsimile).

I also visited Little Rowfant then inhabited by the Godfrey Locker-Lampson family, where hangs a wall-sized protrait of Frederick Locker-Lampson. I have collected books of/by FLL, as well as papers and research about Frederick.

Are you able to email a scan of the autograph you menteioned and I can try to elaborate?

I have a photo of Oliver Locker-Lampson and wife sitting with well-iknown celebrities in a restaurant--perhaps about the same time period as the autograph.

Do you get to visit/meet your British cousins at Rowfant often? Locker is the true surname for all of them, since the Lampson came from Frederick's wife--that is my line.

Any information I would gladly share.

I have some additional info. on the Lampsons of Bridgewater, VT, then Wisconsin, so would like to share with what you have.

I find it interesting that you have Frank being born in Kenosha. I've been looking for my great-great-grandfather (John Robinson) and Martha in the 1850 census, but have yet to pin them down. Martha is not listed with the other Lampsons in Green County in 1850, so I'm thinking perhaps she was still in Kenosha and that's where John was too in 1850. (They were married on May 30, 185, at Brodhead in Green Co.).

Let me know what other information you have on the Lampsons in Wisconsin.

Regards,

Alan Robinson
