Delphine LANDRY b.1882 - m.1909 Cheneville, Quebec - Felix GAUTHIER

Joseph Landry/Jeann Robichaud family 1755-1768

I am trying to find hard evidence on where Joseph Landry and family were during the Expulsion. They were living in Port Royal as far as I know when the Deportation started. Jeann Robichaud's father, Prudent Robichaud was on board the ship, Pembroke, heading for SC, when the prisoners took control of the ship and sailed it up the St. Jean River. I have heard that the family were deported to MA., but I have gone through all the records I can find. There were many Landrys, many Joseph Landrys, but nothing that says "This is the family."
The family made it to Quebec in time for their daughter, Marie Landry to marry Joseph Hamelin in 1768. Is there anyone out there who descends from this family that could give me a clue?
Thanks, Levina
Landry - 13 Generations of descendants

I have thirteen generations of Landy starting with Abraham Landry, 1678, Acadia ( Nova Scotia, Canada), married October 05, 1701, St Jean Baptiste, Port Royal, Acadia, to Marie Guilbault, 1682, Acadia ( Nova Scotia, Canada).
Marie was daughter of Pierre Guilbault, 1639, La Rochelle, Aunis, France and Catherine Theriot, 1651, Acadia ( Nova Scotia, Canada). She had six siblings.

Abraham and Marie had:
Charles, 1706, m Marie LeBlanc
Alexandre, December 19, 1708, m Anne Flan
Abraham Landry, Jr, 1712 m Elizabeth LeBlanc

Charles & Marie had Charles, Jr., Ursule,& Anne Ozite.
Abraham, Jr. & Elizabeth had Anne Marie.
Does any of this sound familiar. Willing to share what I have. Unfortunately I am pretty computer illiterate so do not know how to send out all my information without compromising the living people in my data. Will have to try to find this out.
OleBlue50@cox.net
Landry of Louisiana {Jennings, possibly Cameron, etc}

Hi. My name is Chad and I am looking for living and/or deceased family members. My father's name is Ronald R Clement {B-1956} and Helen V Taylor-Clement {b-1957}. They both live in Jennings, LA but I believe my mother's family comes from Cameron, LA. My father's parents are Willis J Clement {B-1930} and Normel L Landry-Clement {b-1936}. My father has one brother named Glen Clement. My mother's parents are Asa Taylor and Victoria ?-Taylor-?. I don't know birthdates or death dates of either. She {my mom} has three brothers: Timmy, Joey, and I can't remember the other. I believe her family is mostly from Cameron, LA like I stated before. Willis Clement's mother and father were Leonce Clement {B-1881 D-?} and Zloma ?-Clement {B-1893 D-?}. They lived in Jennings, LA but I am not sure if they were born there. I am also not sure Willis's siblings names. Normel Landry-Clement's parents are Gus Landry {B-1913 D-1987} and Elia ?-Landry. She has a sister but I do not know her name. Gus Landry's parents are Travelle Landry and Armanda ?-Landry. We think they were from Jennings also, but again not totally sure. If anyone has any info on any of the Clement's, Taylor's, and/or Landry's please send me an email at nikkinchad012904@yahoo.com.
I've hit my nose on the old stone wall again and again. Just can't find anything about the William Landry/Cathrine Borgt family that immigrated to New Orleans 1830-1840 from Germany. William from Bremen, Cathrine from Bayern. They are in census but that's about all I can find thru 1880. Daughter Sophie was my ggrandmother..there were other siblings. My grandfather Edward and brother George were raised in the German Protestant Orphanage from age 11&8 until adopted. Any information about this family would be appreciated.
Bill Landers
Hernando, Mississippi

My best guess of parents (based on dates) is Antoine and Marie Melanson but I cannot locate records to firm up the link.
I believe the family was exciled in 1755 aboard the Virginia Packet - to Williamsburg,DE (??) - to Bristol, England, where he married - then aboard the LaDorothee to St.Malo, France.
If anyone has any additional detail it would be most appreciated!

Henry L. Landry

I am trying to find out about a gentleman named Henry (Hank) Landry who lived in (possibly ) 49 Frank Street, Chicopee as late as 1954. Henry was stationed in the UK during WWII and met my mother in law possibly in Devon. Henry has a sister in law named Betty and he himself was awarded the Purple Cross.

I have received an email from a member of the Ancestry.com with some really useful information. If this is the same Henry then his mother and father were Joseph and Celestine Landry and they had 4 boys living at home in 1930. These were Stanley, aged 20, Albert, 18, Joseph 15 and Henry aged 13. It lists Henry as being bory in 1917 and enlisted in the army on 23 Nov. 1942. My mother in law thought that he may be around 84 years old but this puts him as a little older. He quit school to get into the war so maybe his age was slightly suspect?

I would really love to hear any information that anyone has about what happened to him. Did he marry, did he have a family. There are no skeletons in the cupboard, so please do not feel that this query may result in anything but fond memories of a lady he once knew in UK. I do believe however that they were once engaged.

If Henry is still alive or members of his family, please please get in touch. My mother in law would be really happy to know of his life.

Sue

I am looking for information on Julius Andrew Landry. He was born 10 16 1880 in the canton Valais (sp) Martigny, Switzerland. His fathers name was Alex. He had a brother Henry born abt 1884 Switz. A brother Alexander born 9 15 1886 in Switz. A brother Alfred born abt 1886 in Switz. I did find sn early census record with Julius living wife a married cousin in Washington State. Not sure of what the connection is. I know that Alex and Julius lived in Milwaukee Wisconsin abt 1920 or times near there. Alex lived there and was married to Ida (mnu). Alexander may have died in Waushara County Wisconsin. Julius Landry was married to Hetwig (Hattie) Plank of Calumet county. Any information on these Landrys would be appreciated.
TIA,
Michelle

Officer J.D. Landry (initials only at this time) was a Houston, Texas Police Officer killed in the line of duty on December 3, 1930. His body was shipped to New Iberia, Louisiana for burial, as his family, according to a Houston newspaper obituary, resided in and around New Iberia. He was 35 years old, having been born on 11/23/1895. Parents were Mr. and Mrs. Adolphe Landry, brothers were Walter, Otis, and Sidney Landry, and one sister, Mrs. Edna Landry? , all of Henry, Louisiana. Am interested in locating the gravesite of this fallen Officer to place a special gravemarker to honor his memory. I reside in Houston, Texas, 281-358-0752.

looking for any enlightenment on these family members ... john lambert was born in abt. 1804 in new jersey and with several brothers came to louisiana where he met and married adele landry... they had at least five children and i'm uncertain of birth order: john, laura (perhaps it's mary laura) married alexander hamilton green (a cotton merchant from new york), albert born 1842, victor born 1844 and joseph born in 1850. ... adele died in 1850 giving birth to joseph ... she is interred in the landry plot in the famous (i don't know the name) above ground cemetery in new orleans with several other family members ... other family members in the plot are hildebert landry, a t. landry and also a john lambert (is this her son or her husband?)... john, the husband, died between 1850 and 1860 in new orleans ... if you recognize any of these people or can point me in the right direction on finding further information i'd be very grateful ... thank you ... jeanee lambert dean

Rebecca Landry, daughter of Adolphe, wife of Achille Boisvert

For anyone doing research on the descendants of ADOLPHE LANDRY, this might be of help.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebecca Marie, daughter of Adolphe Landry and Domithilde Rousseau married Achille Boisvert on 02 Oct 1888 at Plessisville, Quebec.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following information was received from the Archives of the Sisters of Providence in Montreal on 05 July 2005.
Rebecca (Landry) Boisvert:
Personal information file and Necrology, pp. 176-181]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our archive records (personal file) show that:
"Rebecca Marie, born at Somerset, QC on 10 Aug1869, ... was baptized at St. Julie-de-Somerset, Mégantic County, QC.
She entered the Sisters of Providence in Montreal on 11 Oct 1894, professed vows 14 Mar 1901, ... died after 49 1/2 years as a sister, at Hôpital St-Jean de Dieu, Montreal, 6 March 1944"

Her biographical file in the Necrology notes: "Twice she knew the holy joys of motherhood. Her life was happy and peaceful... until 3 deaths in succession crushed her dreams, creating a horrible void around her. In less than 5 years she lost her two little girls and her husband. Her broken heart needed relief from the immense sorrow... so at 26, she entered the convent... with a desire to spend the rest of her life providing relief for others' sufferings."

She worked as a cook for more than 30 years, and as a companion to the sick, until she herself suffered a massive stroke in 1937 which left her an invalid.
