In MARRIAGES AND DEATHS FROM MISSISSIPPI NEWSPAPERS, Vol. 3-1813-1850, compiled by Betty Couch Wiltshire, on p. 167 from the _Vicksburg Daily Whig_ July 28, 1847 issue is referenced:
"Married on the 13th by the Rev. Dr. Leavel, Dr. Edward W. LANE to Miss Laura, daughter of Wm. LUM, Esq. all of this county."
Is this the son, or related to the son by the same name, whose father was Rev. William Dawkins LANE?(GA state senator from Putnam Co.from ca. 1807-1815)If so, it would likely be a later marriage, as he is last found when he administered his father's estate in 1817, so that would put him in his 50s, if he were only even 21.
What happened to Rev. Wm. D.'s son, Edward W. LANE?
Who is this Dr.LANE?
