MESA, Ariz. - Donald Louis Lange, 86, of Mesa, died Friday, March 3, 2000. Mr. Lange was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Muscatine, the son of Helmuth and Hazel Lange.
He graduated from Muscatine High School. He served in the Army Air Corp and was stationed at Williams Air Force Base prior to serving in the Pacific Theater.
He moved to Mesa, where he was employed by the Arizona National Guard as a Sergeant Major, retiring in 1973.
He was a Mason for 43 years, being awarded the 33rd Degree, the highest degree in the Masons.
He was a member of the El Zariban Shrine, the United Methodist Church in Mesa, the East Mesa Christian Church, where he served as deacon, elder and trustee.
He was an avid golfer at the Sunland Village Golf Course.
Survivors his wife, Eleanor Eddy Lange; stepson, Dean Eddy and his wife, Sandra; a sister, Ruth Daniels and her husband, Robert; two brothers, Wayne Lange, and his wife, Betty and Byrd Lange and his wife, Edna; two grandchildren, Clarence Eddy and Marcy Cairns; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy and his brother, Robert Lange.
