William Kirk to Adam Archibald
Registered at 9 A.M. July 17 1857 on the oath of Wm McDowell

This indenture made at River John this first day of June, the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and fifty seven, between William Kirk of River John, Yeoman and Lavina his lawful wife of the one part and Adams Archibald, of River John , Merchant of the other part

Witnesseth that the said William Kirk and Lavina his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to him in hand paid by the said Adams Archibald at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged

Hath granted, bargained, sold, released, and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, and confirm unto the said Adams Archibald his heirs and assigns forever, a certain lot of land, situated lying and being on the south side of the Tatamagouche Road in the County of Pictou

Bounded on the west by lands belonging to the heirs of Peter Matitall and lands granted to Lewis Tattery, on the south by lands granted to John Wilson, on the east by lands of Alexander Langill, Lewis’ son, and on the north by the Tatamagouche Road. Containing sixty eight and three quarters acres, more or less

With the appurtenances together with all the houses, buildings, ways, waters, watercourses, privileges and appurtenances to the said lot of land belonging or in any way appertaining to him the said Adams Archibald, his heirs, executors and administrators and assigns to his and their only use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said William Kirk, with the consent of Lavina his lawful wife who doth also resign all right and title to Dower and other interests to the aforesaid lot of land, doth hereby binds himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, and assigns to Warrant and defend the said Adams Archibald, his heirs, executors and administrators, and assigns in the peaceful and quiet possession of the above conveyed premises forever

In witness whereof the said William Kirk and Lavina his wife have hereunto severally their names subscribed and seal affixed the day and year first above written, viz 1st day of June 1857

Received on the day and date of forgoing deed from Adams Archibald one hundred pounds currency being the full consideration
