My Grandmother was the niece of Herman & Emilie Langosch. Emilie had a brother William Taube who married an Ida Born in the late 1800's. They both died leaving my grandmother behind. She lived with her grandmother Johanna Taube and a family by the name of Klein until she was adopted about 1910. So if you have your stuff in order that would have made them cousins

Albert Langosch, Detroit Michigan

I am looking for information on Albert Langosch, who family tradition states was born in Lauenberg, Pommern, Germany. He emigrated to the US in 1884 separately from his wife Bertha Fluebe Langosch and daughter Anna. They settled in Detroit, Michigan. Anna was born in Danzig, Prussia. After settling in Detroit, Albert and Bertha had sons William H born 14 Dec 1885 in Detroit and Edward J born 4 Apr 1888 also in Detroit. Albert was a butcher in Detroit and died sometime between 1893-1895. I have not yet found him in any Detroit death records, but shortly after 1895, Bertha is listed in the Detroit city directly as a widow and removed to Cleveland, where I have picked up the trail from there. I know that I don't have much to go on, but would appreciate any help.

It's kind of a long story... I'm a direct descendant of a Langosch. There are rumors of relation to the Barrymore actors through Emilie Langosch Maager who was born in Oct 1865. So I've been trying to research her maiden name. There were some Drews at her daughter's wedding in 1913, and the Drew surname is very prevalent in the Barrymore ancestry, so I was looking for the Drews/Langosh connection to see if that lead to anything more about Barrymore connection rumor. I found Arthur J. Langosch's obituary in the Chicago Tribune archives... it mentions his parents' names and his wife being Clara nee Drews.

What I know about the family Langosch/Taube family is below...you may know all this already. It is from info in the Chicago Tribune archives and the 1910 census. I don't know yet if you and I have a Langosch connection yet. I know very little about my Langosch ancestor. Her maiden name was Emilie Langosch, she was born to Ferdinand Langosch and Emilie (nee Schuth) in Germany on Oct. 19th, 1866. Emilie married Frank Maager from Chicago on Sept. 15th, 1883. They had at least 6 children together. My dad is grandchild of Cora Maager Schultheis, one of the kids. Problem is that I don't know who Emilie's siblings or cousins were, so I don't know any other Langosch names other than her and her folks. We have a number of pictures of Emilie, and know she spoke german in the home because the children posted an obituary in german in 1916, a year after she died. That's all I know about her so far... I've been perusing through Cora's keepsakes that have been passed down through the family looking for clues.

Herman H. Langosch (born 1853) married to Emilia F. Taube (born 1856)

They were parents to 21 children, 9 living in 1910:
Arthur J. Langosch, 1894-1976, married to Clara W. Drews
Frederick S. Langosch, 1886-1979
Agnes Minnie Clark, 1879-1961, married to Albert David CLark
Albert Langosch, 1881-1963, married to Anna Krueger
Amanda J. Langosch, 1883-1965, married to Melvin O. Seitz
William Langosch, b. 1887
Frank A. Langosch, 1889-1954, married to Gertrude Leinweber
Laura Amanda Lanogosch, 1891 -1974, married to Arthur F. Kuster
Elmer Langosch, b. 1896

P.S. the email you have listed is not working.

Well these appear to be the names of the children of my Emilie Taube/langosch but I am more confused now then ever. My Emilie was born of Ferdinad? and Johanna Taube. She appears in the 1920 census living on Cortez and again in 1930 Census. She immigrated in 1866 with her parents.
Looking for information on Emelie married to Frank G. A. Maager. Emelie died May 1, 1915; found a copy of her obituary in german and in english. Frank Maager is in the Illinois marriage index as marrying Emelie Langosch Sept. 15, 1883 in Cook Co. We have many photos of Emelie, with other young women, circa late 19th century. We think she worked for the train reststops with them. She is related to Rissling and Drew families somehow. Looking for any connections or information, including confirmation of maiden name.

There is a marriage listed on the Illinois Marriage Index that has a Rudolph Langosch married to Friedericke Reinke on 11/21/1891. License No. 00174615. This is probably your Rudolph. Do you know anything about her family. There were a lot of Reinke's who were pastors of 1st Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Chicago. It used to be referred to as "Reinke's church". My whole family from the 1870's on went there.
