Madore J. Lanoue, Sr.
BLOOMINGTON -- Madore Joseph Leslie Lanoue Sr., of Kankakee, the father of a Bloomington resident, died on Tuesday (June 28, 2005) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home in Bourbonnais.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, 295 Main St. NW, Bourbonnais. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin of Tours Church, Kankakee. Rev. Dennis Settles will officiate. Burial with military rites will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 27034 S. Diagonal Road, Elwood.
Madore Joseph Leslie Lanoue Sr. was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Ashkum, son of Walter F. and Irene V. Beland Lanoue. He married Irene V. Claywell on Dec. 31, 1938, at Assumption Church in Ashkum. She survives in Kankakee.
Madore was involved with the family farm and various occupations until he joined the United States Rubber Company, Wilmington, where he was employed from December 1941 through June 1944, when he began his military service. He was proud of his WWII service with the Third Army in Europe under the command of General G. Patton in the 4th Infantry Division, 8th Regiment, H Company, during the Ardennes and Rhineland campaigns, where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, two battle stars, and was awarded the Bronze Star.
After WWII, he made his passion for cars into his livelihood. Madore owned a Sinclair Station and worked at Uptown Sales before devoting the rest of his career to Lanoue Auto Sales, a venture owned by his son and best friend "Joe" since 1961.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene; two sons, Madore Joseph "Joe" Lanoue, Jr. (Michelle Levitt) of Manteno, and John "Jack" Walter (Terry) Lanoue of Oviedo, Fla.; two daughters, Sharon Ann (Al) Belisle of Bradley, and Tina Marie (Steve) Boettcher of Bloomington; two brothers, Lawrence "Larry" (Barbara) of Bourbonnais, and Duane (Virginia) of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Velma Andrews of Kankakee; Ida Mae LaVoie of Eustis, Fla.; and Alice Corbin of Watseka; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Madore was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Starkey; and one infant grandchild, Martin Lanoue.
He was a member of the Bradley Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6502; Bradley American Legion, Post 766; St. Viator Council 745; Knights of Columbus where he was a lifetime member; Loyal Order of Moose; and the Kankakee VFW Vintage Squadron. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church.
Madore liked to visit with his many friends, follow Chicago Cubs baseball and NASCAR races, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Saturday, August 6th, 2005 - CLEGG, MARIAN LANOUE (ROBINSON) - CLEGG, MARIAN LANOUE (ROBINSON) Marian Lanoue (Robinson) Clegg, 81, formerly of Troy, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Crest Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center in Fairport after a brief illness. Born in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Alfred Lanoue and the late Louise (Gauthier) Lanoue. She was the wife of the late Paul P. Robinson and Wilfred J. Clegg. She was raised in Cohoes and resided in Troy, NY, Valley Cottage in Rockland County and the past 10 years at Fairport and was a graduate of Albany Business College. Marian was a secretary for the Rockland County Hospital for several years. Survivors include her seven children, Paul E. Robinson, Kathleen Clegg, Laurence Clegg, Christopher and Valerie Clegg, Christine and Lyle Fox, Leslie Clegg and Juanita and Simone Raia; a brother, Alfred H. Lanoue; a sister, Madeleine Reiter; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ethel Ziegler and Edna Marzinski. Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 8 am at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy, NY and at 8:30 am at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Clark. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 pm. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy. Roger Lanoue
Roger Lee Lanoue, 63 of Plymouth died on October 16, 2004 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He was born July 3, 1941 to Edward and Evalyn (Knutsen) Lanoue in Marshall, Minnesota.
Roger served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Evalyn Lanoue and a brother James Lanoue. He is survived by his wife Nancy; children Kristine and Mark Lange, Shannon and Harry Lahr, Michele Lanoue and Steve Martinez, and Tod Lanoue; 4 grandchildren Joshua, Nicholas, Chelsea and Lauren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Village Evangelical Free Church in Independence, Minn. The visitation was held on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, and continued on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. also at the church. Reverend Chuck Dake officiated at the service, with music provided by Jill Pautz, musician and vocalist, with congregational singing.
Casket bearers were Tod Lanoue, Harry Lahr, Mark Lange, Nicholas Wirgau, Dean Holt and Dave Carpenter. The interment took place at 1 p.m. in assembly area 2 on Wednesday at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Steven F. Lanoue, 61
RENSSELAER -- Steven Francis Lanoue, 61, of Rensselaer, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Jasper County Hospital.
Born May 6, 1945, in Lafayette, he was the son of Clara Metzinger Lanoue and the late Raymond F. Lanoue. He attended Rensselaer schools, graduating in 1964 from Rensselaer High School.
His marriage on Jan. 18, 1969, in Rensselaer, was to Phyllis L. Chambers, and she survives.
He retired after 25 years with St. Joseph's College, where he had been the groundskeeper. He previously worked in construction and was the former owner and operator of Steve's Shell service station in Rensselaer.
Mr. Lanoue was a member of the Jordan Township Board, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion Post 29. He formerly served on the Jasper County 4-H Council and the Jasper County Historial Society. He was a veteran of the Army, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Heather Neal (husband: Kevin) of Indianapolis, Stacie Klingler (husband: Rod) of Rensselaer and Melissa Lanoue of Forest; his mother, who lives in Brookston; four brothers, Jim Lanoue (wife: Judy), Rensselaer, Fred Lanoue (wife: Judy) of Remington, Doug Lanoue (wife: Sandy) and Gary Lanoue (wife: Donna), both of Rensselaer; and two sisters, Ruth Fine (husband: Bryan), Mesa, Ariz., and Cathy Moss (husband: Max), Brookston.
The family will receive friends at Jackson Funeral Chapel Rensselaer from 2-8 p.m. (CST) Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, with rosary service at 7 p.m. (CST) Funeral services at 10 a.m. (CST) Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Rensselaer, Father Mark Peres officiating. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include 3 grandchildren, Madison, Chase and Reece Klingler and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
