Daniel Lansdown

I am only just starting my family search of the Lansdown family.

I am interested in Daniel Lansdown, a plasterer, he is named on his son Ernest William Lansdown's marriage certificate in 1833.

Ernest William Lansdown is 26 on his marriage date of 1883, giving him a birth date of approx 1857 but I cannot trace Daniel Lansdown.

Ernest William Lansdown married Phoebe Jane Ridley, daughter of Thomas Ridley (stated as deceased on their marriage certificate in 1883) , they were married at St George's in the Parish of Battersea, they lived at the same address on the day of marriage 75 Mundella Road, Battersey ? , London.

Their first child was Ernest Charles Lansdown born in 1883 they had many more children and at some point whilst working as an Engineer he moved to Briston near Melton Constable to work on the railways as a Telegraph Linesman approx 1889 and then to Norwich, Norfolk by 1901.

Unfortunately Ernest left Phoebe around 1902 and returned to London now without trace. Phoebe staying in Norwich where she brought up the family.

The spelling of our surname has changed over the years but it originates as Lansdown from Daniel.

Any help would be appreciated.

LANSDOWN/LANSDOWNE obituary - Australia

Hello to all, and happy hunting! I'm hoping to find an obituary for a lady whose maiden name was Irene Morton. She was born in 1911 in England and married George Reginald Samuel Read before 1933 in Australia. Irene and George later divorced, and Irene remarried a man named Alan Lansdown/Lansdowne. I have heard that Irene died in 1999, but I have not been able to locate an obituary for her. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Sincerely,

SARAH
