I have hit a brick wall and have been stuck here for some time. My gr-gr-gr-grandfather, John Lansing, was born in 1816 and died in 1895. I have a picture of his gravestone in the Cleveland, NY cemetary. He is buried with his son, Edgar Eugene Lansing (1851-1906) and Edgar Eugene's wife Louise Dunham (1859-1930). I cannot seem to find any concrete info on Edgar Eugene's mother, nor can I find John's parents. There are a lot of John Lansings in New York State, yet none seem to link to my John. I am thinking maybe that John was not his given first name.
I have a lot of info on the Dunham line, tracing all the way back to the Plymouth colony through the Morton line to Nathaniel Morton, raised by Governor William Bradford after Nathaniel and his father, George, came to the colony around 1621 and George, a very good friend of Bradford's, died shortly thereafter.
If anyone has any info that they are willing to share on John Lansing, it would be most appreciated and I am very willing to share what I have with you.
Thanks in advance, and I would be happy to connect with you directly via email, snail mail or telephone.
Roger
