My great grandfather was Adam Lansing, married to Mary Child. He was a cooper by trade and I found him on the 1840 NY Federal census in Cortland county in Truxton township. Also in the 1850 NY Federal census in Madison county in De Ruyter township and finally in 1860 NY Federal census in Cayuga county in Moravia township where my grandfather John Ortho Lansing was born in 1861. Any information on his parents woul be appreciated.
