About me and my LANTZ connection: My last LANTZ ancestor is my third great-grandmother Clarissa LANTZ, born 16 Feb 1799, probably in Allegany Co., Maryand and died 11 Aug 1854, Allegany Co., Maryland. Her father was Daniel LANTZ (d. 1816-1824) and her was probably Maragret KIMBERLEY. Clarissa married George CATLETT, born 12 Feb 1793 and died 12 Aug 1854, 3 Nov 1822. Daniel LANTZ is one my “brickwall” ancestors. I have a

My genealogical studies began officially in late January 1976 and much of that time was pursuing my southern U.S. lines. I did not have much luck nor much inclination to purusue my LANTZ line until I began corresponding with Jim L. CLAUNCH of Leavenworth, Kanas in late 1995. Jim has input earlier LANTZ works into a genealogy database and has compiled a couple books that he’s donated to the LDS Family Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Unfortunately, he has nothing to add to my line, but he inspired me to at least consider tackling some primary research on my line. I looked at census records for Allegany Co. in mid-1996 and have made contact with an OFFUTT researcher (Dave OFFUTT of Nebraska) via the Internet. These two avenues have added descendants to the Daniel and Margaret LANTZ tree, but so far I’ve not been able to connect Daniel to any of the “known” LANTZ families (primarily of PA and the Palatinate). I compiled a NGS-style register report this past September and it can be viewed from my home page on the Internet. It does not include (yet) the information provided by Dave OFFUTT. See: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/karon_bosze/dlantz.... to view this report.

I hope to share my LANTZ research using both GenConnect and my own Web site - http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/karon_bosze (stop by and take a peek!). And I hope that you will share your research efforts as well!

If you have any questions or comments, donÂ’t hesitate to contact me: boszek@doubled.com

Look forward to hearing from yÂ’all and I wish each of you tremendous luck in all your genealogical searches!

In your genealogical database do you have Eli Lantz who married Angeline Teets? They had at least one child--Walter Albert Lantz. Eli is my "brick Wall". I have been told that they point back to the family that had John (Hans) Lantz as the German ancestor who immigrated to this country in the early 1700's. I believe he lived in Berks County. From there the family moved to western PA, then OH and IN. Walter was back in PA in the early 1900's (Cambria County). All of this is somewhat unsubstantiated. If you have any information on any of these people, please let me know.
Thanks

Hi,

Hi,

I am working on the Lance Family Tree and was wondering if you could help me. I am particularly interested in the Lance Family From their Germany to the US to Transylvania County, North Carolina after the brothers, as listed below established residency. Do you have any information on the Lentz/Lance Family? Please email me. Thanks, Tonya S. Mitchell - cattales1967@earthlink.net

John George Lantz, husband of Anna Rosina Reiber, whom he married 1769 in Hanover Twp, Lancaster, Pa. This area was Dauphin Co, PA in 1785 and later became Lebanon Co, PA. His will in Frederick Co, MD 1799. Two daughters and one son moved to that area of Monongalia Co, VA that later became Preston Co, WV, where son-in-law Henry Bischoff bought property 1801-1803. Researching descendants. There is apparently no relationship between these people and those whose name is Lance, Lentz in either Washington Co, MD or Lantz, MD.
