Obit: Jack Lantz of Nebraska (1925-2006)

Jack Lantz, Jr., the son of John J. “Jack” and Edith (Stillinger) Lantz was born on February 23, 1925 at Litchfield, NE. He grew up on the family farm and helped out. Jack attended school in Wolbach and St. Paul, NE up to the 8th grade. The family then moved to the St. Edward area.

Jack worked for the railroad until he was laid off and then worked with his father who owned and operated a carpenter business. Jack never married and he continued to live on the home place and care for his mother after his father passed away. Jack cared for his mother until she moved into the Cloverlodge Care Center. In July of this year Jack moved to the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, it was there that he passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 81 years of age.

Jack was a member of Methodist faith. His favorite hobbies were fishing at the Beaver Creek and Hunting with his dogs.

He is survived by his siblings: Walter of Scott, Louisiana, Norma Joynt of Topeka, Kansas, Patricia Boyd of St. Louis, Missouri, sister-in-law Joyce Lance of Creighton, Nebraska and Eva Lantz of Omaha, Nebraska.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister Barbara Jean, and 2 brothers Don and Fred.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward with Rev. Martin Leeper officiating. Visitation will be held Friday 5-8 pm at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.
