Peter Lapan

I found the death for a Pierre Lapanne who died 03 December 1894 in New Bedford, Mass. He was buried in Easthampton, Mass, his parents were Laurent Lapan and Eliza Deforge and he was 73 years - 7 months at time of death (born about 1821).

There was no wife listed. I do have a Peter Gaboriau married to a Henriette Bonneault/Bono. Henriette died in Mass in 1915 and one of the sons, Alfred Peter Lapan married an Emma Greenough in Easthampton in 1882. They both died in Easthampton.

I suspect these Peters are one and the same. Peter appears to be another brother to Thomas Lapan (married to Julia Letourneau) and Franklin Lapan (married to Marguerite Luman/Lemoine). Does anyone have anything on either of the Peter Lapans??

Julia LaPALME, b. Ontario ca 1841, d. Southampton 1879 age 39 PLEASE HELP!!

Hi,
I am DESPERATELY seeking info on my g-g-grandmother, a "mystery woman" named Julia LaPalme who was born in Ontario, Canada about 1841. Julie LaPalme married John Alexander McDonald (b.Scotland) on 15 Feb 1866 in Bayfield, Ontario. They had six children and moved to Southampton, Ont. where she died on December 21, 1879 at age 39. I have no idea how or why she died or who her parents and family were. My great-granddad James Alexander McDonald, b. 3/17/1870 was one of her children. If ANY of this seems even remotely familiar, PLEASE REPLY! This is a great mystery to my family. I really need help with this one as I have been struggling with Julia LaPalme now for many years. I greatly look forward to hearing from anyone out there who can help, even a tiny bit! Thank you!! Tammi --PS special thanks to Charlene already for all your great help--but I need more! :)

I am looking for more information on Lewis John Archie LAPAN.

Per his marriage license in Cuyahoga County, Ohio to Louise Emma REINKE (married on July 12, 1920) he was 21 years of age, born in Altona, New York, the son of Lewis LAPAN and Susan PERGA.

I have reason to believe he divorced Louise and returned the the New England Area. I have not proved this. This is pure speculation.

As for his parents - I have nothing on the older Lewis LAPAN, however Susan (PERGA) LAPAN died February 01, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio.

My maiden name is LaPine. We are from upstate NY. We have traced the family back to Peter and Lucy LaPine. It has been suggested that the name was changed from LaPan to LaPine around 1870 and that they came from Canada. Does anyone have any information that might help me?

My grandfather, Joseph E. LaPan (changed to LaPann later), lived in Fort Edward, New York. He was born in 1896 and I know that he had sisters named Grethel and Idessa, as well as some other brothers and sisters. I believe that his parents or grandparents came from Canada. There are also a lot of LaPan's in Hudson Falls, New York, who are distantly related to me, but I'm not sure how (distant cousins). If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. Also, I know that one of my Canadian ancestors married a Native American/Canadian (Indian)woman.
