Hi, I have a genealogy history of the Lapierre's from Grand Desert NS. I don't know if your Grandfather is related or not but I could look for you if you have an idea of his birth date. My name is Robert McCauley and I am currently tracing the Larochelle branch of my family. My g-grandmother's name was Marie Bernadette Larochelle she married William McAuley. Marie's parents were Edward Larochelle and Marie Miron.
Edward's parents were Etienne Larochelle and Adelaide Lapierre.

Etienne and Adelaide were married in Bytown (Ottawa) on October 4, 1841. Together they had 10 children, being:

Herminia (b. ? d. 1846)
Emerentienne (b.1843 d. 1843)
Ermeline (b. 1845 d. 1911) + Charles Pellerin
Adeline (b. 1846 d. 1930) + Joseph Henri Bourgeois
Edouard (b. 1848 d. 1938) + Marie Miron
William (b. 1850 d. 1905) + Margaret Murphy
Josephine (b. 1854 d. 1894) + Louis Chenier
David (b. 1858 d. 1932) + Mary Ann Camley
Alexander (b. 1860 d. ?) + Helene Dupont, Mary Giroux
Alfred (b. 1861 d. 1912)

Etienne and his family moved to Rolph Township in the upper portion of Renfrew County Ontario in 1857. Adelaide was born Abt. 1828 in either Ontario or Quebec and died in 1908. Etienne was born abt.1816 in Quebec and died between 1861 and 1871.

I would very much appreciate to hear from anyone who is descendened from or studying this family. I would especially like to find the names of the parents of Etienne and Adelaide as it is not included on their marriage.

Does anyone know how many original Lapierre families came to Canada? I know of Francois Lapierre of Acadia.

I'm particularly interested in Lapier(re)s on the south side of the St Lawrence, in the vicinity of St. Hyacinthe, circa 1800. Are they all related?

Hello. Joseph Lapierre was in Eagle Harbour MI around 1870 as the first daughter Eliza was born there. Two more cildren born in MI 1873 , 1876. The next chid born 1883 in Minnesota. Another child born 1885. Another child born 1887 in Wisconsin. Not sure yet as to why they back tracked and when east to Wisconsin. Josph Lapierre also used the surname of Stone. He was the enumerator for the Red Lake falls area of Minnesota for the 1895 state census. The details that I have on Louis are not very clear. He had a land patent in the late 1880's very close to the area that Joseph had his land patent- Crookston Terrebonne Lambert area of MInnesota. Died before 1920 and is buried in Red Lake Falls Minnesota The 1900 census for North Dakota show Joseph Lapierre in Eddy County. Hello. I have a Joseph Lapierre in my family tree that immigrated from Quebec to Michigan and then to Red Lake Falls Minnesota and finally to New Rockford North Dakota. There was also a Louis Lapierre in Red LAke Falls MN. I am guessing that this could have been a brother. I did a search in the Canadian census and tried to find a Lapierre family with two sons of these names. I then went into the Drouin collections and the closest match was Brignon dit Lapierre. I may not have the right surname but I am up against a wall and anything looks good. Does any of this fit into your research? Thanks

He was born about 1935
He was in the city of Toronto in summer of 1959
He worked in construction on heavy machinery
Perhaps was born in Montreal
May have been married at the time
He left Toronto and then spent a few weeks in Belleville
and then disappeared.

I don't have Penelope in my data. The FORDHAM line was very prolific; they are also my connection to the LaPierre line. I descend from Benjamin FORDHAM (IV), of Wilkinson Co. GA, who had a brother, William. Unfortunately, I have not researched William, other than securing the record of his birth (April 20, 1791). He would be a little young, but certainly a candidate for Penelope's father. I do record a sister of my Benjamin, born April 24, 1810, but she married a BILLUE. I also connect to the SCARBOROUGH line by way of the HOBBS. Sorry I can't be of help.

DO you have more information about the Brignon dit Lapierre families. I think Joseph Brignon b Nov 1840 might be my ggreat grandfather. His father was Pierre Brignon dit Lapierre and mother was Osite Payment dit Lacoursiere. All I know is that Joseph Lapierre married Mary Cosgrove in upper Michigan in 1869. I am having trouble finding the right Joseph Lapierre and the Brignon family seems to be a close match

Does anyone have info on Pierre with the nickname Peter Lapierre? He was born in Quebec, Canada around 1850. My great aunt told me that he was born with the first name Magloire and hated it so he changed it to Pierre. He married Virginie Richer also from Canada. I do not know where they were married. I know they lived in Somersworth and Rochester (or a part of Rochester called Gonic), New Hampshire. They had several children but I do not know the names of all of their children. I know that Pierre died in Rochester, NH on Jan. 2, 1920. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Wish I could help you but the Lapierre's I am looking for (aka LaPeyre) migrated to Australia. I'm not sure if there is a television show over there called, "Find my Family", but if there is, you may have luck with them. They seem to be able to get information which is normally unobtainable(in a relatively short time) to the rest of us.

Death of Roland M. LaPierre in freeway accident

Appears in the “Mirror News” 14 September 1959 Los Angeles, California

A three-car crash killed three and left five other person critically injured last night on the Long Beach Freeway just south of Slauson Avenue.

The dead are: Richard M. Ackenback, 15 of 660 W. 32nd Street, San Pedro; Mrs. Vera Crown, 38, of 10001 San Juan Street, South Gate, and her mother, Mrs. Emma Lawson.

Critically injured were Jonathan Robert Cowan, 44 also of 10001 San Juan Street; Alfred Ackenback, 46; his wife, Margaret; a daughter Linda, and a son, Rudy, 14, all of the W. 32nd Street address.

Seven Hospitalized

All were taken to Maywood Hospital, as were two others less seriously injured; Franklin Cave, 53, and his wife, Madeline, 57, of 1774 Bluff Hill, Monterey Park.

Highway patrolmen said the crash occurred about 8 p.m., when Cowan’s car sideswiped Cave’s in the northbound lane, then sped across the 50 ft. divider and hit Ackenback’s station wagon head on.

Freeway traffice was tied up in both directions for more than an hour.

Car Rips Fence

Another freeway accident earlier in the day took the life of Roland M. LaPierre, 34 of 2853 W. Ave. 33, who lost control of his car while inbound on the San Bernardino Freway, just east of Fremont Avenue.

The car rolled and ripped up 150 ft. of chain link fence.

LaPierre’s sister-in-law, Marilyn Leahy, 19, of the same address, suffered minor injuries.

John LaPierre MD - Revolutionary War - French Army

I am attempting to locate information on:

John LaPierre, MD who was a physician in the French Army during the American Revolutionary War. He is said to have known George Washington and LaFayette.

I have read that, once immigrated to the U.S., the family may have changed their surname to "Grey" or "Gray" due to political reasons. Probably relevant is the family's Huguenot background.

The descendent that I do know about is:

Angeline Gray (LaPierre) born 1827 in Brashers Falls, New York - buried in Maysville, Iowa. Married to Joseph Soper.

Children:

Hannah Lavina Soper b 1841 - married Col Arthur Tappan Reeve

If anyone can give me any clues about this branch of the LaPierre-Gray family I would appreciate the assistance very much!

I have hit a brick wall with the parents of Joseph Philip Lapierre [married Myrtle Gertrude Tormey] who died in NY, but was buried in Notre Dame, Montreal, CN. Hi, I am searching for my Grandfather. I was told his name was Leo Lapierre. He was engaged to my grandmother, Gertrude M Kennedy, her date of birth was October 10, 1907. She had my father, Wayne Thomas on October 12, 1942. I am not sure of the entire story, only what I have been told. The story is that she met my grandfather, was engaged, became pregnant, during the war, my Grandfather left, and never came back. My Grandmother was from Caribou Mines, Nova Scotia.
