Hi, my name is Candice Marie Lapole. I am pretty sure my grandfather is the same Robert Lee Lapole you spoke of. My dad is his son, Robert Lee Lapole, Jr. I know that I have family in Florida I just do not remember their names. My dad is the oldest of 5 children from my grandmother Myrtle Elizabeth Lapole (I don't know her maiden name). The others are:
Richard ??? Lapole
Stanley Eugene Lapole
Melicia ??? Lapole (died at age 21)
Adam ??? Lapole

I know my grandfather remarried but I don't remember her name. But what makes me think it is the same person is that he died in 1982. I was just a baby so I don't remember but my mother told me he died in a convienence store robbery. The store was being robbed and he just happened to be there.

Hope you are still registered here. I just noticed your inquiry about the Lapole's of W/Va & Ohio. My grandfather, George W. Coe, was adopted by a Coe family in Ohio but his birth name was Lapole and as far as I can determine, they were from Virginia or W Virginia. He was born way back in the mid 1800's and died in 1932 in Okla. Have you found any ancestors who may have given a child up for adoption. It probably wasn't a formal adoption but a case of the Coe family just took him in due to unknown circumstances. Apparently he was not happy with them as he ran away from the Coes when he was about 12 and we know nothing about his birth or adoptive family. Any help you can give me will be much appreciated.

I too am searching for my son's ancestors, his fathers name was Robert Lee LaPole born in Hagerstown MD. We don't know who his parents were and how many children they might have had. All we do know is that there was one brother Richard that might still be living in Florida. I am searching for my son's ancestors, David Wayne LaPole is one of Robert L LaPole's sons and we don't have any information on that side of the family. All we know is that his father Robert Lee LaPole was born in Hagerstown MD and has a brother Richard that was or is still living in Florida. Robert L LaPole died in 1982. I have the paternal side of my research nearly complete. The maternal side is proving a lot more difficult. I believe my grandmothers maiden name was Esther Lapole. She died in 1941 at the age of 64 making her birthdate about 1877. She married a Joseph Leslie, probably in the Ohio/Kentucky area near or in Bracken County Ky. Any information will be much appreciated.
