I am looking for any information on my ggggrandmother. Her name was Agness Larimer born around 1833. She married my ggggrandfather David Harrold. They had a daughter ( my gggrandmother) Melissa Harrold Teeters who was born in 1845 in Latrobe. I found David Harrold in the 1850 census in Westmoreland County, Sewickley Twp. But Agness was not listed as being part of the family. Only David and Melissa. I am not sure what happened to Agness. Any information would be really helpful.

thanks
rj

OBIT: Frank Larimer (~1884-1931), Pana, IL

Pana News Palladium (Illinois), Thursday, 1 October 1931, front page
Train Dispatcher Frank Larimer Dies At His Key
Donald Larimer Only Witness
With his son, Donald Larimer, aged sixteen, as the only witness, Frank Larimer, aged 47 years, train dispatcher and assistant ticket agent of the Chicago and Eastern Illinois, dropped from his chair in the ticket office at the station at 4:10 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, while at the key, and expired in a few minutes.
Shocked by the tragic incident, Donald Larimer rushed across Locust street to the freight depot and called to Agent R. H. Porter and Yard Foreman George Bales to come to the ticket office at once.
The two responded immediately and arrived just as Mr. Larimer gave a couple of gasps and was gone.
No Inquisition.
Doctor A. Lee Alderson had been phoned by Young Morrison and arrived in a few minutes and pronounced Mr. Larimer dead. The deceased had been under the medical care and treatment of Doctor Alderson for some time for heart trouble. In consequence, no coroner’s inquisition was necessary.
The body was at once removed to the Kirkpatrick mortuary and prepared for burial.
This was the second train dispatcher in Pana to meet a tragic death the present week. Benjamin F. Russell, formerly with the Baltimore and Ohio, having died early Monday morning at his home, 210 Kitchell avenue. Larimer had only about one hour previous returned from attending the funeral of Mr. Russell at the First Presbyterian church. He had just checked out Train Number 21, Chicago to St. Louis, and was at his key notifying the St. Louis trainmaster of the departure of that train, when death struck him.
Frank Larimer resided only a short distance from the Chicago and Eastern Illinois depot, and his son, Donald, went to call his mother just after he notified Agent Porter of the tragedy. Mrs. Larimer arrived at the station just as the ambulance motored up for the remains. She was in a state of collapse.
Born at Charleston
Deceased was one of Pana’s respected residents and had a large following of friends and acquaintances to all of whom his sudden death came as a severe shock. He was born at Charleston, Illinois, July 10, 1884, the son of Israel and Belle Mitchell Larimer, now residents of Tuscola, Illinois. Mr. Larimer wedded Miss Lois A. Weeks of Tower Hill on June 16, 1909. She survives, with two sons, Franklin Larimer of Hampton Roads, Va.; Donald of Pana, student in the Pana Township High school, and one daughter, Isabell, also at home. These brothers and sisters also survive: George Larimer, Clyde Larimer and Donald Larimer of Tuscola, Ill.; Mrs. Grace Bennett of Indianapolis; Mrs. Helen Davis of Detroit, Mrs. Dorothy Behnke of Durant, Mich., and Mrs. Maude Leonard of College Corner, Ohio.
Mr. Larimer was a member of the Christian church and the Order of Railway Telegraphers and the Modern Woodmen of America.
The remains of Mr. Larimer will be removed to his late residence, North Locust street, on Saturday morning.
Funeral services will be at the home at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Reverend J. C. Brown of the First Methodist church officiating.
The interment is to be made in the Mound cemetery at Charleston.

Surnames:
Alderson, Bales, Behnke, Bennett, Brown, Davis, Larimer, Leonard, Mitchell, Morrison, Porter, Russell, Weeks.

When I ordered this obituary, I thought this man might be related to my family. He is not. If someone wants the photocopy of this obituary, contact me through this list. A RAOGK volunteer sent it to me; I'm happy to forward the favor.

Labanna Larimer - Westmoreland County, PA

I am looking for information on the parents of Labanna Larimer, my gr-gr-grandfather. Labanna was born 1838 and died 10/22/1900 in Congruity, PA. The 1850 census shows an 11-year-old Labanna Larimer (although spelled incorrectly) living with the James Young family in Salem Township, Westmoreland County, PA. It is unknown why he was living with the Young family and/or if there was any connection. He literally married the girl next door - Sarah Cline about 1860/1981, daughter of John Cline (Kline) and Margaret Fennell. Labanna and Sarah had six children, three if which survived infancy - William Edward, Anna Mary and Alpheus. Anna Mary married William Walter and the family lived in and around Saltsburg, PA. Alpheus married Anna and had one daughter, Olive, who married a Van Horn in Pittsburgh. William Edward Larimer was my gr-grandfather.

I have hit a SOLID brick wall when it comes to finding Labanna's parents. Is there anyone out there who may any Larimer information that could help with my search and is willing to share such information? Any and all help is appreciated !! Thanks in advance!

Mrs. Elizabeth Larimer of Cotati, CA

I am searching for information about Elizabeth (Bullard) Larimer, the widow of Charles W. Larimer. Elizabeth Larimer (Feb. 14, 1880--June 12, 1967) moved to Cotati, Sonoma County, CA from Walnut Creek, Sacramento County, CA in about 1956. Elizabeth Larimer lived at 5841 Stony Point Road in Cotati. Her obituary states that she was survived by sons Ralph E. Larimer of Cotati, Wilson Larimer of Tracy, and Charles Larimer of San Francisco, and 5 grandchildren. Does anybody remember Mrs. Elizabeth Larimer of Cotati? Did her son Ralph E. Larimer reside with her? Does anybody know the names of any of Elizabeth's grandchildren? Can anybody help me?

I think they were taken in Kiester or Bricelyn MN. If these men are part of your family, will send you copy of the pic.

I am searching for information about Frank Hardy Larimer who was born Sept. 21, 1871 in Burlingame, Osage County, Kansas. A One World Tree lists Frank Hardy Larimer as the son of Stuart F. and Ann Eliza (Davis) Hoskinson. But then why is his last name Larimer? The One World Tree also lists Frank Hardy Larimer as the twin brother of Grant Hoskinson Hurst. But why do the twin brothers have different last names? That doesn't make sense. Is anyone related to Frank Hardy Larimer? Can anyone help me?

Larimers in America

My cousin and I have researched the line of George W. Larimer for many years. We do think he was born in OH (from census records) but do not know where yet. We have researched a large group of Larimers in Perry/Fairfield County OH, who had emmigrated from Hunterdon County PA to Fairfield/Perry Co., OH. We suspect that he came from this area in Ohio as he is living in Miami Co., IN in the mid 1800's very near to other Larimers who were also from the same Ohio area . The patriarch of that Ohio family (another Robert Larimer) and James Larimer, living in Fairfield Co. originally came from Ireland (more census records).
I have been considering setting up a site for Lorimer dna. I would like your comments and assistance. I don't think it will be a difficult task for setting it up but maintaining it will be the hard part. I don't really understand all the ins and outs of dna so if anyone else does then you would be the person that could help maintain the records and database.

The link here is the testing site that is preferred, we can do it through ancestry, but it seems to be more expensive for the tests.
http://www.familytreedna.com/faq.html

I want your feedback.

Thanks
Margo

Larimer connections

I'm looking for information on a Labanah Larimer - alternate spellings are Labann, Lebanna, Labana, Labanna. I'm going to list what information I have with the hopes that someone recognizes a name.

Labanah Larimer (b. circa 1838, d. circa 1900 in Western PA) married Sarah J. Cline (b. circa 1841, d. 1920s). Census records place them in Westmoreland County, PA in the late 1800s. Labanah & Sarah had three children - Anna M. (b. about 1864), William E. (b. 1870), and Alpheus (b. about 1876). William was my great-grandfather, but the other two children are a mystery to me so far. Information I have gathered includes ....

As of the 1920 census, Sarah Larimer resided with her daughter, Anna (married to Herman Keen/Kern) in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. Anna & Herman had two daughters - Frances and Cecelia.

Alpheus Larimer married a Margaret ?? and had one daughter Olive, b. about 1903 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PA.
Olive married Harry Van Horn, and as of the 1930 census Alpheus resided with them in Pittsburgh. Alpheus was a printer by trade.

I have hit a brick wall when it comes to finding any more information on Labanah Larimer. I thought I would put this information out there to see if it rang a bell with anyone. Thanks for any and all information!!
Am just starting research on this line of the family. William Larimer b1833 d1877, married a Margaret Nunemaker b1841 d1924.
Larimer Connection ?

I'm a Larimer from Westmoreland County, PA. I've just started to trace my line and so far I'm back to my great-grandfather, William Edward Larimer Sr. (b. 1870, d. 1942). He was married to Edith and had 9 children. I know there is quite a bit of Larimer genealogy information out there and I'm hoping someone is able to make a connection to my great-grandfather. I appreciate any information!
