I am looking for any info on a Rosanna Larock or Larocque that married a Louis Charron. Both were born in Canada, not sure of year..but they had a child, Thomas Charron, in 1873 (in Ottawa County, Quebec). I do not know if Rosanna went by Rose or Rosalie also. I recently received my great grandfathers marriage certificate (Thomas)from 1892 and he listed Rosanna Larock Charron and Louis Charron as his parents from Canada. Any info would be great...

I do know that in the 1880 Census her sister Sophia Markie was living in the Seager household with her two children Arthur and Bertha. Louisa and Benjamin had three children in 1880 census Frank 1869 Carrie 1875 and William L. 1879. The latter being my Great Grandfather.

I'm searching for evidence about the parents and wives of Joseph Larocque, who was born about 1795 in Rigaud, Vaudreuil, Quebec. Joseph died 26 Sep 1878 in St. Lawrence Co., NY. He was in the War of 1812 in the militia, Battle of Lundy's Lane, and was captured by the Americans along with brother Francois. They were POWs for about a year near Albany, NY. Joseph married first possibly Laura Leroy in about 1821 in Canada and they had son William LaRock in 1823. Joseph married second Ann(a) McKenzie and had the following children, all born in Canada: July 1828 Celia [married Levi Snow]; abt 1831 Mary [married A. DeMarce]; James Robert b. 9 Dec 1834, married Rozilla Pike and died 25 April 1909 in Minnesota; Joseph LaRock; Francis LaRock; and an unknown female.
The family moved to St. Lawrence County, NY, about 1840, probably the Fowler area. I have info to share about James Robert LaRock's line. Thanks for any information!

I am trying to connect my g-g-grandfather, *Thomas, (born 1835 in Hawkesbury, Ontario, which is only about 18 miles from Rigaud), who married Rose Marie Couillard (Louis Hébert descendant), in Papineauville, Qebec on Feb 12 1861, to the above **Thomas (I have my Thomas parents listed as Michel Roy and Emelie Hamelin).

The parents of Michel from information I have received,are Jean Baptiste Roy born Mar 3 1767 in Oka, and Marie Josephe Couillaud dit LaRoque born Sept 9 1771. They were married Jan 28 1793 in Vaudreuil, Québec

I do not know the parentage of Emelie in either case, so if anyone knows the parentage, and further information on Thomas and if I can verify this line, it would be greatly appreciated!

We are researchig the parents of Richard. His first marriage was to Elizabeth La Fromboise, he then lived common-law with Elise La Fontaine. He had a large family and homesteaded in Atlee, A.B.(east of Brooks, close to the Sask. border). One of his daughters,Vitiline, (my grand-mother) was born in Atlee, A.B. Richard and Elise are both buried at the old grave yard in Cluny, A.B.

Badger Minnesota
Due to the area of this cemetery I believe this is my Grandfathers Godfather as His Godfather is Louis LaRocque.

Eldora E. LaRocque, 92, of Cheyenne died Dec. 22 in Cheyenne.

She was born Nov. 26, 1911 in Mitchell, S.D.

She was a homemaker.

She married George A. LaRocque Jr., on June 25, 1932, in Wilmette, Ill.

Mrs. LaRocque was a member of United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Girl Scouts of
America, White Chapel Bell Choir, a registered Parliamentarian, past-president of
Lakewood Women's Club, Green Gloves Garden Club, and a member of Foothills Golf
Association.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne M. McClintock; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. LaRocque Jr; parents, Roy A.
Hopkins and Myrtle M. Hopkins.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Logan Cemetry in Denver.

Interment will be at Fort Logan Cemetery.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. LaRocque.

It is beleived that Frank moved with his mother to Canada in 1914, and lived near Granger, Alberta; they may have later moved to British Columbia. LAROCQUE/ROCQUEBRUNE mysteries of Quebec.. any help?

Here are the two largest mysteries that I have yet to find the answer to:

1. Philibert's TRUE French past. As of yet, since there is STILL NO Larocque association, no one has been able to answer the questions of WHY Philibert came from Nevers and WHY Robert Roquebrune says his family is from Auch WHILE he totally mis-states that Jacques DELAPORTE is from Berri, but he is NOT from Berri.. he is from Montagne, Perche (his father was BORN in Perche, according to a primary source)! Something is wrong if we STILL cannot figure out the story.. hopefully one day we will be able to UN-do what Robert Roquebrune has tangled up for us.

2. My great-great-great grandfather Charles LAROCQUE was married 8 Aug 1826 in St-Charles sur Richelieu to Charlotte PION. Simple, right? NO... The Patriots Revolution of 1837 changed the course of my branches history, and he and his family moved to St-Rosalie, Bagot, where my great-great grandfather Louis was born in 1840. What happened in the Revolution that caused such a move? His siblings were born right before 1837, in St-Denis and St-Charles. If ANYONE has REALLY GOOD information on the population of these two towns, help me out. As of yet, I have NO record of any LAROCQUE or PION ancestors being arrested or dying in the mess, so it is bizarre... The LAROCKS of Vermont come from this same branch, through Michel, Narcisse, and Anthanase.

Lois Berry

Lois Larocque Berry, 86, passed away January 4, 2003, in Elko, Nevada.

She was born August 13, 1916 in Mackay, the daughter of Emery and Daisy
Warren Larocque. She was the second child of five children. She graduated
from Mackay High School then worked as a waitress at the 3L Cafe in
Mackay.

She married Kenneth Berry March 13, 1937. Shortly after they were married
they moved to Clayton and eventually to Challis. Lois went to work for the
Custer County Courthouse as deputy treasurer for 23 years.

Six years ago she moved to Elko, Nevada and lived with her daughter
Martha.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Berry, her parents,
Emergy and Daisy Larocque and one sister, Silvia Larocque Cresto.

Lois is survived be one son, Emery (Bud) and Helen Berry of San Diego,
California; one daughter, Martha Berry of Elko, Nevada; sisters, Mary Toops
of Washougal, Washington and Ethel Pollot of Prineville, Oregon; one
brother, Bud Larocque of Boise. She has three granddaughters and two
step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons. She is also survived by
several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois was cremated under the direction of Burns Funeral Home and a
memorial service will be held at a later date in Challis.

Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to charity of
choice.

This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Berry.

Joseph Larocque

I am trying to find information on a Joseph Larocque, born @1877, probably in Canada. He married a woman named Mary Woods, but Woods may have been translated to English from French. Mary died in 1936, Joseph in 1960, both in Easthampton, Massachusetts. They had several children, including Thomas, George, Joseph, and Mary. Their children were given the last name LaRock, but it is unclear as to who changed the spelling of the surname.

If anyone can give me information on Joseph, it would be appreciated. I am trying to find out about who his parents were. I have been to the larocque marriage list, and have not been able to link myself to any of the four major families.

Adamore J. LaRocque, 83, of 11 Columbia St., died Saturday at a local convalescent home. Born in Potsdam, N.Y., he lived in this area for 50 years. Before retiring, he was employed at the Smythe Manufacturing Co. Inc.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Eva M. Charlebois LaRocque; three sons, Roy LaRocque, and Ernest LaRocque, both of West Hartford, and Ronald LaRocque of Enfield; a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Lagueux of Wethersfield; a brother, Artem LaRocque of Canada; a sister, Miss Lea LaRocque of Canada and 14 grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from Fisette Funeral Home, 20 Sisson Ave., with a Solemn Requiem Mass at the Church of St. Anne at 9. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. Calling hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

My great grandfather William Rock or LaRocque is on the 1900 and 1910 Schuyler Falls Clinton County New York Census with his wife and children. There are several other Rocks on this census with him. I think they may all be related, but I am looking for links that may help me in my search.

This gentlemen worked for The Stanley Works for 29 years, at New Britain, CT. He married for 2nd time by Justice of Peace on March 14, 1964 to Sylvia Coviello Mirsky born Dec 15, 1915 and she died May 28, 1994 in Indian River, FL. I've hit a brick wall with searching for my grandfather's birth records. He (Edwern "E" LaRocque) said he was born in Akron, Ohio and that his parents died when he was young. He did not know their names. I have been unable to locate his birth records and anything about his parents.

BIOGRAPHICAL TEXT: Alphonsa or Aloysius Laroque, was a rancher in Nebraska Territory, which included the area around Denver. He married Mary Pretty Hip or Mary Anputa the sister of Oglala Chief Day. They may have also live in the Ft. Laramie, WY area. He is buried at LaParte, Col. at the same cemetery as McGaa.

They had one daughter: Louise b.07/01/1868, who married Charles Cuny for whom Cuny Table, SD is named and many of the Cuny grand children still remain and live on Cuny Table. Mary is better known to all the relatives as "Grandma LaRacque". [Lautesclager, Virginia I., A History of Cuny Table., 1983.]
