LaVONNE NORTON
LaVonne (Bonnie) NORTON, 73, passed away at home surrounded by her family on March 7, 2008.
She was born July 12, 1934 in Urbana, Ill. She was a resident of California for 39 years and a resident of Victorville for 4 years. She was a military wife for 53 years.
Bonnie had a big generous heart and never met a stranger. Everyone who came to her home was treated like family. Holidays were always warm and wonderful affairs filled with laughter and love at Bonnie’s house. Her Christmas Eve parties were legendary.
She thoroughly enjoyed being an Avon representative for more than 40 years. Through Avon she supported the military troops and her community via donations.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Clifford J. Norton Jr. (Shortie) of Victorville; her daughters, Paula Schlange of Victorville, Vickie Misaege and husband Frank of Corva, Italy, and Theresa Weaver and husband James of Victorville; two brothers, Richard LaRoe of Illinois, and Dale LaRoe of Illinois; sister, Louise Carpenter of Illinois; half-sister, Sharon of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Connie Ma-woods and husband Damian, Dawn Fernandez and husband Albert, Joe Misaege and fiancee Lauren, Cierra Strojia and Lorna Weaver; six great-grandchildren, Anthony, Philipp, Dante, Marissa, Vincent and Bryanna.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Schlange.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Road, Victorville.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Road, Victorville. Pastor Dane Davis will be officiating.
Desert View Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
