Julia Laroque is my great aunt. I am looking for information on her sister, Mary Josephine Laroque/?/Echandi/Neely. She is my father's mother. I am trying to find out who my father's father was and how much native american blood he had. He was born Philip Joseph Avery and then was adopted and name changed to Philip Avery Echandi/later Eschandi. Do you have any info that might help me?

Thank you for writing back! Yes, I have the same info about Mathias, Exilia (many spellings) and Mathilda. As a matter of fact I have a whole book on the family. Are you related through George to Richard Jolicoeur? My Sister-in-law is a great granddaughter of Mathias & Exilia so she & your father-in-law must be cousins of some sort.

Exzilda Beauchamp died in 1891 and Mathias remarried Mathilda Suprenant. My Father-in-law is the g-grandson of Mathias and Mathilda.

Charles was from St Vincent, MN. In 1879 he married Julia LaDOUCEUR ( born near Walhalla, ND on April 9, 1860), daughter of Elizabeth LaPLANTE and Basil LaDOUCEUR.

Charles and Julia LaRoque farmed in Hill Twp until his death, 3 Jaunuary 1907. Julia lived in Hill Town until 1929 when she moved to St Vincent where she lived until her death 3 April 1946.

Fifteen children were born to this family:

The marriage of Joseph Lariviere and Marie Bonin took place in St Jude 11 Feb 1850. (I do not have a copy of this, so this is all the information I have)

The marriage of Joseph Lariviere and Juilene Dufault 21 Jan 1845 St Jude Quebec Canada. (I do not have a copy)

Joseph had 3 wives within 10 years! The third wife (Celina married a second time to Denis Baudro (spelled several different ways)
The marriage of Celina Millette VF of Joseph Lariviere
and Denis Baudreau was in St Jude 9 jan 1865
They moved to the USA after the birth of 2 children.

I find the French names so confusing! Can anyone tell me when Joseph Lariviere died and where he is buried?
Did he have any children by his first 2 wives? What happened to his first two wives? Did they die or were they divorced?

My name is Leanne Rocque. My grandparents are Richard Rocque and Iva (Gardner) Rocque. My great-grandparents are Leo and Edwilda Rocque. Edwilda died and Leo remarried a woman named Delmina. Leo was killed shortly after, in 1926, while on duty as a police officer in Two Rivers, WI. The family would have likely came from Canada or France, but I am not sure. They settled primarily in the area of Two Rivers, WI and also Marinette County.

My name is Leanne Rocque. My grandparents are Iva (Gardner) Rocque 1919- and Richard Rocque1914-1979. My great-grandparent's were Leo (died 1926 - murdered while on duty as a policeman in Two Rivers, WI) and Edwilda Rocque (died in 1910s). Hi Mic. Thank you for your reply....i have found a site that does list other children of the marriage, i am not sure that it would be accurate....I am searcing for a Marguerite LAROQUE who m. Emmanuel Beaugrand dit CHAMPAGNE at [RR] St. Boniface, MB., in 1823. I am her gr gr gr grandaughter. She is found in Govt. of Cda Scrip as Metis, but i have never been able to locate her date or place of birth, her parents or siblings.

The Olivier LAROQUE that you noted also married in Red River and i thought that he might have been my Marguerite LAROQUES' brother, but he would need to be Metis.

Would you happen to know if your John Anthony Larocque had a brother names William? I am a Larocque decendent. I am trying to find ancesters of my grandfather who was Gilbert John LaRocque and changed his spelling to Rock, but his brothers and sisters kept the surname Larocque (Virginia and Herbert) They were born up state New York. There fathers name was William Larocque the mothers name was Josephine. William may have been in the Spanish or Mexican Wars. He died when my grandfather was eight or nine years old. He was born, Nov. 18, 1899 and he was the oldest. He said he was born in Fort Ticonderoga, NY. He spoke french and it is probable that they may have came from Quebec into NY.

It says she had 3 sons...Isadore, Toby & Joseph, but I think my records are kinda messed up even though they are directly from the Department of the Interior in Belcourt ND. Looking for information on Dora Laroque/Rock. She is the dau of William Laroque/Rock and Josephine. Josephine later married Charles Canfield. She was b abt 1904 in NY. She died in Stanstead, Quebec on 03 August 1929. I have a newspaper article that says she was hit by a milk cart and killed in front the methodist church in Standstead. Her two year old son Elroy was killed as well. She was married to Frank E Quimby of Grafton County, NH. Looking for any information on Dora and her father William.

Sorry I posted the wrong birth date for William Rock/LaRocque or Larock his birth date is January 1877. His father's name may have been Joseph. William Married Josephine and they are found on the Schuyler Falls, Clinton County Census in 1900 and 1910. Also listed on the same census are several other Rocks or variation there of. I am a direct decendent of Dora. My grandfather Amos Gilbert Rock/LaRocque was her brother. I have some information on my family and I am currently working on this history.

Herbert lived in Syracuse NewYork, Possibly Sons, One son died in accident.
Virginia died in Concord NH area (Infield NH) died Concord, she has 1 Son Frank, by first husband., (Sanders) she was married twice, Second husband, Joseph Prego Diaz was from Spain. He returned there.
I do not have any information on Edith, I think she died at a very young age.
I would love more information on Dora Mae if you have it and also William and Josephine. I am having a tough time finding information on William LaRocque. I was told we were of French descent (France) his fathers name may be Joseph? I would appreciate anything that you can help me with and also I must know what our relation is.
