Your question is from 2005 and you've probably long known the answer, but I thought I'd try anyway. It seems Cyrille and Luce had 13 children: Madeleine, Nicolas, Cyrille, Genevieve, Luce, Jean-Baptist, Modeste, Fermin, Maximilien, Henriette, Rose, Olive, and Monique. Very good info at Genealogy of Canada, www.nosorigines.qc.ca.

I, too, believe I have Nicolas Larrivee on my family tree and am trying to ascertain that he and Rosalie Rioux had a son, also named Cyrille, who would be my great-great-grandfather. If you can help with any further info about Nicolas Larrivee, please send it along. Thanks-you.

My grandmother was Edwidge Larivee who married Zotique Gadoua on 6/17/1889 at St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes, NY.
The marriage record shows Joseph Larivee (one r) in the name and Edwidge Normandin. I'm still searching for the marriage record of Normandin and Larivee.

Edwidge, their daughter, was born in 1866. She emigrated to NY, Cohoes, a French speaking city in 1875. She was naturalized in 1895. She died in 1933 and is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford, Saratoga County, NY.
Her gravestone lists her name as HEDWIDGE. The 1920 US Census shows her listed as HEDWIDGE.
But I can't get a bead on her parents. If by now you've gotten some info on them, I'd be delighted to know.

Nine Missing WWII Airmen are Identified

The Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of nine U.S. servicemen, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and are being returned to their families for burial with full military honors.

Staff Sgt. Francis E. Larrivee, of Laconia, N.H.;

. . . The burial . . .will be at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C. on a date to be determined.

Representatives from the Army met with the next-of-kin of these men in their hometowns to explain the recovery and identification process and to coordinate interment with military honors on behalf of the secretary of the Army.

On July 7, 1944, the men were aboard a B-24J Liberator that departed North Pickenham, England, on a mission to bomb a German aircraft factory near Bernburg, Germany. The plane was last seen by U.S. aircrew members in that vicinity. Captured records revealed that it had crashed near Westeregeln, about 20 miles northwest of the target in what would become the Soviet sector of a post-war-divided Germany.

In 2001, a group of German citizens interested in recovering wartime relics and remains learned of a potential crash site south of Westeregeln. Later that year and in 2002, the group found the site and uncovered human remains from what appeared to be two burial locations. The remains and other personal effects, including identification tags, were turned over to U.S. officials.

In 2003, a Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) team excavated the crash site and recovered additional remains, identification tags and non-biological material evidence.

Among dental records, other forensic identification tools and circumstantial evidence, scientists from JPAC and the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory also used mitochondrial DNA in the identification of the remains.

Larrivee - Levis area

I'm looking for more information on several Larrivee families who lived around Levis, Quebec in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

Eitenne Larrivee married Marguerite Gonthier at St. Charles de Bellechasse on April 18, 1780. Their children included another Etienne, born January 1, 1781. He married Therese Royer at St. Charles on January 22, 1804.

Children born to this couple (Etienne anf Therese) included Simon Jules Larrivee, born about 1815 and married Esther Ringuet at Lauzon on November 24, 1840.

One of their sons, Joseph Jules Larrivee, born in February 1852, married Josephine Sanschagrin at Levis on July 27, 1874. This couple moved to Laconia, New Hampshire in the late 1800s.

Have seen references to this book Descendances de 4 (L) ARRIVE(E) en Amerique by Alfred Larrivee and am very anxious to find a copy or someone who has a copy to fill in some blanks in my Larrivee background. My Larrivees are from Fall River, MA. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have in my tree Nicolas Larivee son of Cyrille Larivee and Luce Levasseur. Nicolas was married to Rosalie Rioux in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, November 23rd 1830. Do you have more descendants of Cyrille and Luce.

If this is the same Roland, your father and I may be distant cousins. I can remember being introduced to a cousin named Richard Larrivee by my Uncle Rene at my Grand Father's
Wake.in 1970. We are about the same age. I was born Mar 25, 1949. My Grand parent had three sons Roger, Normand(My Father) and Rene. My father moved to Ct in 1950. This is quite exciting. If you could ask you father what is his family connection to My Grandfather Roland and possibly answer one major question. I have been attempting to find out by my Great Grand Fathers given name, and as well my Great Grand mother's name. My Dad can't seem to remember. thanks Richard N. Larrivee

looking for information on Leo Dupont and Catherine Larrivee. Willing to give partial decendant listing, but need ancestry on either side. Unfortunately i do not have any more than a year range for them, and it is based on their child's birthdate. John Baptist Dupont was born approx. 1839, in canada. My father's name was Henri Larrivee married to Hermine Pellerin - George Larrivee was married to Blanche Pellerin
my mother's sister.

We have been researching the Larrivee, Larivee, Larive, Arrivee family. My brother's daughter has been working on this project for a long time.

You can e-mail me your questions and I will give you the information you need. My father was born in Montmorency, Que. and he moved to Montreal. We moved to Ville St. Laurent in 1942, he then moved to Ile d'Orleans for a few years and died in Beauport, Que.

I found out from another posting that Laraby came from Larrivee. I was wondering if that happened during a certain time period? Was it just a change for some reason during imigration? Where does the name originate from? French?

Richard: My son contacted me from Maine about your grandfather Roland from Fall River. Your grangfather was my uncle my fathers brother, my father's name was Ernest. You dad is close with my cousin Roland Desjardin in Ct. Roger, Normand & Rene are my counsins. My Mom is the only Larrivee left from that era she is 84 she was very close to your Grandmother Rose. Your great Grandfather's name was Edgar Larrivee not sure on Great Grandmother she died before I was born but he remarried I kind of remember her. I will talk to my Mom. Let me know what info you are looking for. I'm sure I can get the info you are looking for. Do you still live in CT.? I just spoke with my father who states that he has an uncle named Roland who maried a woman named Rose. They had a son name Rene Larrivee if this helps any.

My father is Richard Larrivee he was born April 25 1949 in Fall River his parents are Ernest Larrivee and Florence Larrivee (Peletier) he has three brothers Gary, Ronald and Peter. They once lived in the globe area of Fall River, My father is now in Somerset Mass and I am in Troy Maine. I would like to know if maby we are of relation.
