Rescued Passport, LARSEN Surname, Warren, PA 1925

I recently obtained an old passport, complete with photo, of a young lady who is identified as Lillian Johanna LARSEN. It lists her place of birth as Warren, PA. It's dated June 1, 1925. She was a piano teacher.

It's far different than the passports we have now. She did travel, if I counted right, she passed into at least 7 different countries. There are assorted stamps also on this.

However, someone at some time, altered two items on this document. The first one shows her age as 26. The paper is green and you can clearly see an eraser mark. Then, the date of birth is altered. One eraser mark is where the 8 in the 18 should have been (in the year), and it looks like someone wrote ovfer the third number in the year, making it a 9. So it reads that it was issued in 1925, but her date of birth is: Aug. 24, 1993.

Inspite of the alterations, it is a wonderful document and the photo shows a thin young lady in the early 1900s. It does have the raised seal on it and a red stamp with a raised seal on that also. Back in the day, they listed a discription of the facial features. She had an oval face, an oval chin, a straight nose, fair complexion, dark blond hair, a large mouth, high forehead, hazel eyes, and she was 5'6" tall.

I'd like to get this into the hands of family. If you'd like to obtain it, please contact me at: digginroots@yahoo.com

Kathy

Larsen Norway 1850-1900

I've been quite successful searching Norwegian farm families, but less so on urban families. Any hints?
The family I am looking for is Jens Larsen, b,abt 1851 and his wife Johanne nee Unknown. Johanne and her kids show up in the 1900 Kragero census, living in an apartment. I presume that Jens has died.

I have found the known (from 1900 census) kids birth/baptism records as shown below:

Birth 28 Apr 1880 - Aagot
Kjobmand Jens Andreas. Larsen b.1851
Johanne Kristina Elisabeth b. Breisin? b.1859
---
Birth 11 May 1882 - Sigurd Andreas (Reijster?)
Kjobmand Jens Andreas. Larsen b.1851
Johanne Kristina Elisabeth b. Breisin? b.1858
---
Birth 17 May 1884 - Thora
Kjobmand Jens Andreas. Larsen b.1851
Johanne Kristina Elisabeth b. Breisin? b.1857
---
Birth 22 Jun 1886 - Erling (Reijster?)
Kjobmand Jens Andreas. Larsen b.1851
Johanne Kristina Elisabeth b. Breisin? b.1857
---
Birth 26 Dec 1887 Lovise
Kjobmand Jens Andreas. Larsen b.1851 (residence col 7 "Lokken")
Johanne b Breisin? b. 1858
-----
Witnesses to the various baptisms include Wolffs, Dorans, and Jensens.
Does Kjobmand mean Merchant?
Could "Breisen" actually be "Bergen"?
There are other words on the birth reg. that may be locales
that I can't decipher.

Thanks for any help.

Nick

children of Lars Larsen (Oiehol) Norway?

Bernt Nicolai Larson was born in 1861 and raised around Oye, Sonmon, Aalesund Norway? by his parents Lars and Randi Larsen. Bernt came over to the US April 27, 1887 with his brother Lars and they farmed near Minot, ND. He was later married to Berte P. Viddal also from Norway. We are trying to find any living decendents of Bernt's brothers and sisters who stayed in Norway: Ole Petter Larson, Johon Rorstad (lived on Rorstad farm), Berte Marie (married a Nordang), and finally Jettina (married Moses Skrede(?) at Oye). Any information would be greatly appreciated--thanks!

My GG Grandfather emigrated from Sweden about 1855, some family records show 1856. He was born in 1828. He settled in Marietta,Kansas until 1859. He moved to Marietta, Kansas and married Mina Harrison. Jacob changed his name to Lawson after he emigrated here. He told my Grandmother when she was little that he came from a place in Sweden called "No Mans Land". I was told he came through Castle Garden in NY. I can't find him on any of the lists so he may have come before August 1, 1855.

LARSEN passport

In a very old book, I found a large official passport issued to Lillian Johanna Larsen of Warren, PA on June 1, 1925. Miss Larsen was a piano teacher and was 26 years old. Her date of birth has been altered to read Aug. 24, 1993...which is, of course, hardly possible. Her picture shows a very attractive young lady who traveled to England, France and Germany. I have no connection to a Larsen family, but if she is yours, this is a lovely old document and I will be happy to mail it to anyone interested.
Shirley Bowers in N. He immigrated to US via NY 1880 with his older brother, Hans Larsen. They initially lived in Chicago area with his uncle, Otto Larsen, a dentist, also of Copenhagen.
I am looking for information on Emil S. Larsen, b. 1891 in Denmark. He came to the U.S. sometime in the early 1900's. Married Pearl Lofthouse in 1913. They settled in Pocatello, Idaho. Sometime after that he left her and her kids and that's where I lose track of him. I went on FamilySearch.org and found a record that said he married again in 1944 in Reno, Nevada. Also found a record on that same website that said he died in 1961 in Phoenix, Arizona. Haven't been able to verify any information regarding his remarriage and death. Any connection or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

John Afred Larsen was a conductor for the Northwestern Railroad. Born in Chicago IL in April 1893. He had brothers and sisters: Oliver, Robert (Bob), Thor (Thomas), Harry, Mabel and Pearl. Do not know the order of birth.

His father's name in Christendom (Olso) Norway was Lars Jacob Dahlen (?). He came to this country with the occupation of "Ship's Carpenter". No one can tell us the name of his mother. Family documentation was destroyed in 1952. I have been using the Census to locate the family - Wisconsin/Michigan/Iowa/Ohio/New York. If you can help me, I would be grateful.

Sincerely, Linnell
