LEWIS LARSON - bio
Lewis LARSON was born at Furnes, Hedmark, Norway on Jan 20, 1850. He immigrated to America and arrived in the United States on April 19, 1872.

He went to the Red River Valley area of Minnesota and Dakota Territory where he worked for a number of years before his marriage on April 14, 1881 to Ase Kristine Bjornsdatter.

Ase Kristine was born at Nissedal, Telemark, Norway on June 25, 1859. She immigrated to America and came to the Red River Valley area in 1880.

After scouting for suitable land to homestead in the summer of 1881, Lewis and Ase and their infant son, together with others of the earliest settlers in the Mouse River Loop area, came fra Buxton, Dakota Territory, making the 200 mile trip in wagons drawn by ox teams. The LARSON family settled along the Mouse River in the southeast quarter of Section 34 of Hendrickson Township on July 24, 1882.

Seven children were born to this union:

Martha Caroline LARSON Onstad: 1883 - 1953
Bertha Marie LARSON Bakken: 1885 - 1976
Hans Larson: 1891 - 1905
Oskar Larson: 1893 - 1914
John Larson: 1896 - ?
Herman Julius Larson: 1899 - 1953
