Looking for Descendants/ Ancestors of Sabino Lartigue and Elisabeth Galbarino

I am seeking out descendants or ancestors of Sabino Lartigue and Elisabeth (Elisabetta) Galbarino.

Sabino Lartigue (31 Jan 1852 in Mexico-24 Oct 1912 in Chicago). He married Elisabeth Galbarino on March 2, 1878 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born in Tennesse in 1861 and died July 24, 1941 in Oak Park, Illinois.

Sabino's Father's name may be Felisund, he came to America in the 1870's and was French. His parents likely fled France during the late 1840's/1850's and had him in Mexico.

Elisabeth Galbarino's Mother's name may be Angelina Mucci. She was Italian Catholic and baptized several of her children in the Catholic church in St. Louis. She and Sabino would move to Chicago, and she would spend the last apx. 30 years of her life living with her daughters, Bertha and Isabelle Lartigue.

They had the following children:

1. Amelia Marie Lartigue (1879-1945) married Jacob Peter Robling
Sons: Harold (1901-1933), Earl (1905-1952), Cornelius (C. Lowell) (1910-1965) and Eugene Robling (1913-1947)
Seeking descendants of Harold Robling's twin grandaughters,
Elizabeth Ann Sullivan and Margaret May Sullivan (15 Dec 1959)
(Their Mother, Jean Robling Sullivan passed away in 1989, and
was My mother's first cousin)

2. Julius A. Lartigue (1882-??) married Jennie Williams
Son: Edgar Leonard Lartigue (1906-1977)
Granddaughter: Flora J. Latigue (1926-)

3. Virginia Lartigue (1884-1950) married Fred Blackmun
4. Bertha Lartigue (1886-1976)
5. Louise Lartigue (1887-1965) married George C. Baas
6. Isabelle Lartigue (1889-1974)
7. Victoria Lartigue (1891-?) married Jim Harris
8. Henry Lartigue (1895-1947)
Daughter: Carole Ann Lartigue (may have married Patrick Woodward in Chicago, IL 1951)

Amelia Lartigue Robling was my Great Grandmother and I have nearly reconnected with all of my Robling cousins, except for Jean Robling Sullivan's daughters. I have pictures, records and personal accounts of Amelia.

My Mom, Aunts and several cousins grew up knowing Aunt Bertha and Isabelle. I also have a photo of the Lartigue Family ca. 1915.

Any information on any family within this query would be extremely helpful.

my name is Elizabeth Cantu, but my mother was a Lartigue. Her name is Belinda Lartigue and her father was Eleazar Lartigue from Brownsville, Tx. My grandparents currently live in Spring, Tx. The last name Lartigue is French, but specifially derives its roots to Normandy, France. In fact, I have family on my mother's side that still resides there.

My Lartigue line also went to Mexico from France. 4 Lartigue brothers immigrated to search for minerals and obtain land in Mexico. I have 3 names and I think my GG GRandfather is the missing 4th. I recently went to Brownsville, Tx. and met several older Lartigue women and they gave me alot of info. My line lived in Matamoros and one brother went to Monterrey. Please contact me and maybe we can find a connecting link.

Howdee I am the gg grand son of Treville Rideaux, brother of Caroline Rideaux Lartigue, who died in the 1880's. I came across Jean Bt living with his father, Nelson Pierre Lartigue in the 1900 St. Lansry parish census around Melleville area. The rest of the census records draws blanks on Nelson & some of his children. His sister, Eloise that married Leon Lemelle died in the parish. His uncle Gustave Lartigue & his family settled near Ville Platte & blossumed from there into a large family. Keep up the search. Ricky

I am looking for information on my great grandfather. He was born around 1860. I think his father name was Pierre (1826) and his mother's name was was Caroline Rideau (1832). His wife was Coralie Batin and the only child that I know they had was Napoleon Joseph Lartigue who went by Joseph Prudhomme when his mother remarried. Napoleon was born on March 7, 1892. Jean and Coralie were married in 1883. They were all from Louisiana in the St. Landry Parish area...mostly around Opelousas. I would appreciate any and all information.

Funeral services will be held at the Roche Funeral Home at a time to be announced later, followed by mass at St Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Lartigue Cemetery. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs M A Fabre of Mobile, Mrs Rose Robinson of Akron OH, and Mrs A Waltz of Clearwater FL; six brothers, James Lartigue of Dayton OH, Ollie Lartigue and Fred Lartigue , both of Mobile; Robert Lartigue and Harry Lartigue , both of Akron OH; and Peter Lartigue of Beaumont TX, and other relatives. Funeral arrangments by Roche Mortuary.

Your information has nothing in common with my Lartigue ancestors, which I have researched back to 1766, the birth date of Gerard Lartigue of Bordeaus. He came to the US via Haiti, settled in Georgia and produced a number of descendants. None of the names or places of residence match what you providedl

My great grandmother was Amelia Marie Lartigue born 1879-1945 but she died in Chicago, Illinois so I think we aren't closely related. Maybe a few more generations back, but anyways happy searching!

I am also a Lartigue but have very little info..My line came from France to Mexico then to Texas....I probaly follow the line for Robert Lartigue....Have you ever heard of the name Leopoldo Lartigue....he was born in France about 1780....I know he had at least one brother but it is my understanding that they did not get along and split up in the states.....My gr gr grandfather, Leopoldo, had 2 daughters Maria and Amelia or Anita....If you can help it would be appreicated..

I don't know if we are on the same link, but my great grandmother was Maria Lartigue, she had a sister that died around 1945 in Cameron County, Texas..I don't know too much about her but her name was either Anita or Amelia....Please contact me to compare notes..

My Grandfather's name was J. Frank Lartigue. He was born in 1885 and died in 1960. Census records have him in Louisiana( Avoyelles Parish) from 1910 until his death. He was married to Octavie Saucier. Do you have any date info regarding your Grandparents? I have no info on my Grandfathers parents

I also had no idea that there were so many Lartigue's. From everything I recall nobody could pronounce it or spell it during the time I was growing up. So, I thought I was unique. I do think that the Carolina connection is seperate from the Louisiana connection. I am still seeking. I am spending a lot of time doing this, wish there was an easier way

I wish I had more to send. The Lartigue surname is far more common in the US than I knew when starting my efforts. I have a large amount of information on theSC family from which I descend but thus far have found no link to any of the LA Lartigues.

Thank You, I have just started doing this research and am having a hard time finding out anything. I can't seem to find out anything regarding my Grandfather prior to 1910. I remember my Father telling me that his Grandfather along with his Brother came from France and that one of them was a musician in New Orleans and that one of them died in a flood.

My grandfather was Etienne Lartigue b. Blackville, SC 1870 and d. 1917 Gainesville, FL. His GGF, Gerard, was b. in Bordeaus 1866 and who had a brother Raynor who owned plantations along the Mississippi River. When Raynor died he left two children in LA. This is as close as I can come to having knowledge of your ancestor and don't know if there is a relationship or not.

Thank you for your response to my posting. I know my ancestor Gerard Lartigue was born in Bordeaux in 1766; I have a photocopy of his birth record entry from the area. I will check to see if that record mentions Landes.

I'm fortunate as I still have family in France that I can trace back to. I recently went to visit them and I can tell you that Lartigue is an extremely common name in the "Landes" department of France (major towns are Mont de Marsan and Dax).

The Landes department is located immediately south of the Bordeaux region.

I only know Raynor owned plantattions in Louisiana but did not live there. He remained in France but visited often, seeing his brother Gerard in Augusta, GA when here.

Have little else other than he died leaving two adult children in LA.

My Lartigue line is from Mexico then back to France....I am looking for info on Leopoldo Lartigue. He came to Texas about 1873, his wife was Aurelia Davila. They lived in Matamoras before coming to Texas.

My husband's great-grandfather is named Pierre Lartigue, who hails from Shreveport, LA. Pierre's daughter was named Cora Lartigue; she married Willie Alcutt and gave birth to 11 children. My husband's name is Curtis Alcutt. Let me know if my husband is any relation to you, as he is in search of more relatives.

My Grandfather was J. Frank Lartigue he was born in 1885. I am trying to find info about him. The 1910 Census indicated that his Father was born in France and his mother in La. He was living in Avoyelles Parish at the time of the census and married to Octavie Saucier. I am trying to find out who his parents were. I wonder if Frank j is his father?

My Grandfather was J. Frank Lartigue and he was married to Octavia Saucier. From what info I have they were married in Avoyelles in 1905. They lived there until they died. I do not have any info on my grandfather's Family. I do have some info on the Saucier fly. Its possible that there is some relationship here.

I did a little research On Jean Lartigue and Susan Harve. They could be my Great Grandparents or my Grandfathers Aunt and Uncle. Jean was born in 1840 in France. Susan in 1851 in Louisiana. They married in 1872 and as of 1880 had 5 children. 4 daughters 1 son named V. T.born 1869. I can't find out anything after 1880. My Grandfather was born in 1885. I know that one Daughter, Alice born 1877 Married Auguste Bordelon and they had 2 children, Robert & Sybel. Alice died in 1919. The other Lartigue children were M.J. born 1871. I am looking for information regarding my Grandfathers Family. My Grandfather, J. Frank Lartigue was born in 1885 in Louisiana. He married Octavie Saucier, born 1866, in Avoyelles. My great grandmother was Amelia Marie Lartigue born 1879 and died 1945. I believe she may be brothers with Julius. In her deathbook one of the bearers is Edgar L. Lartigue. I am very interested in this side of the family and have some information and pictures of that side of the family.
