"Mr. Michael Lee 'Smiley' Lashmit, 56, of Winston-Salem died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005. He was born Jan. 27, 1949, in Forsyth County to Edgar Lee and Alice S. Lashmit. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and a member of Hope Moravian Church. He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his mother of the home; two sisters, Etta Ratledge and husband Kenneth, Jr. and Marian Hall, all of Winston-Salem; two nieces; and a nephew. He also will be missed by his many golfing, fishing, traveling, and hunting friends.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Hope Moravian Church by the Rev. David Merritt. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, Oct. 30, at the church."
