Searching for information on Laske / Shelman family. Grandfather was Max Laske, Married to Jeanette Shelman. Max's Great-grandfather was a Nathan from Lithuania. There are cousins spread all over the country, if any of these names sound familiar, please respond.

Am looking for different Surnames mostly from Puerto Rico or somewhere in the caribbean. Grandmother was Heroina Irizarry, Grandfather Ruben Lind Reyes.

I would appreciate help, including websites, where I might be able to check for more information.

HI Beverly, I am looking for a Silvia Laske. She had a child with John Arleigh Murray. Funny thing is that John is from Chicago, Ill.Maybe there's a distant connection, I mean, I think they were in California when they were together, however there are very few Laske's on this board and any help would be just that.-Any help.Thank you, Janae Murray

Hi Beverly. I may have some information nuggets, but I'm only starting to chase down facts. Bertha Laske Buckley is my great-grandmother. She was married to an only child, William Buckley, and they had one son, Robert Buckley. They lived in Chicago. My grandmother (Robert's wife, Mary Stalzer Buckley) tells me Bertha was born in Montreal, Canada. Her parents left Germany in order to escape the draft which Gramma said would have taken Bertha's two older brothers, who were adolescents. Shortly after Bertha's birth, the family relocated to the Chicago area.

I just found that Julia Dickson Laske was born
April 22, 1889 and died July of 1979 in Jackson, MS
This information would lead me to believe then that
Arnold Charles Laske was born on Dec 1, 1883 and died
Oct. 29, 1950.

I am looking for information on my paternail
grandfather's family. This is what I know so
far... Charles William Laske was born in the
Southern part of Germany and died in Duluth,Minn
he married Bertha Farnweldt who was born in the
Nothern part of Germany and died April 11,1911
in Chicago, Illionis. Their children were Arnold
Charles Laske born in Sette(not sure of that spelling)
Germany either April 22,1872 or Dec. 1, 1883
(I have information showing the two different dates)
he married Juila Dickson abt. 1910 in Miss. and died
Oct. 29,1950 in Jackson, Miss. Their second son
was Edward Laske born in Duluth, Minn June 10,1889 and married
Minnie Grace Huff and died Oct 28, 1953 in Honesdale, PA
(these are my great-grandparents). Their third child was
Bertha Laske born in Duluth and died Nov. 29,1945 in
Chicago, Ill. she was married to Robert Buckley.

From what my grandmother has told me we know that sometime
after coming to the US and the birth's of the children Bertha
went back to Germany and then came back to the US about the
start of WWI and settled in a different area unknown to me at
this time could be the Chicago area as that is where she died.

Anyone having any more information this part
of my family please let me know. Thank you
