Lasky Family in the 1920s-1930s in Alabama

Surnames: Lasky
My Lasky family supposedly came from Russia around the turn of the 19th Century (to escape the pogroms on the Jews). They settled in Alabama (Madison County I think, because they appear on the 1930s census according to Ancestry.com). My great-grandfather was Joseph Lasky and my great-grandmother was Bessie Lasky. (Joseph's father may have been named Wulf, or else I'm confusing this side of my family with another side) They had two children Samuel (in 1910 - my late grandfather) and Alva (my late great aunt). Samuel ended up settling in Philadelphia and Alva in NJ at some point. I would like to find out more about the previous generation in Alabama and if anyone knows this Lasky family and if they were in fact from Russia, or more precisely the Ukraine or even Poland as Lask is a county near Warsaw apparently that had a decent Jewish population at one point. THANKS!!
