Lassen Family From Denmark to New Haven, CT

I am reposting in the hopes that someone will recognize my children's heritage. Louis Lassen was born in Schlewvig-Holstein, Denmark (at that time part of Germany). His father was Christain Lassen, mother's name unknown. When he came to New Haven, CT he married Sophia Kurtz, who according to the 1930 U.S. census was born in Ohio. He opened Louis Lunch in New Haven which had to move several years ago because of New Haven construction. It's a well-known eatery.

Anyone with information would be appreciated.

Peter and Dina Lassen

Informatin from Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois, shows Peter Lassen (6-5-1918) buried with Dina Lassen (3-18-1929) in a plot owned by Conradine Jeschke. Also buried there were Charles Geschke (8-12-1899) and Cleon Hiter (4-27-1937). I suspect Dina was the former Dina Ohlendorf, married first to Charles Geschke (daughter Elsie married Cleon Hiter), married second to Peter Lassen. Can anyone confirm this or add to the information I have? Thanks in advance. Marty

Peter Lassen

My family is reported to be cousin to Peter Lassen, the California Naturalist, after which Mt. Lassen, CA was named. Peter Lassen was born near Farum, Denmark Oct 31 1800 . Peter's father was Peter Nielsen and his grandfather's name was Lars Nielsen. His own name changed over the years from Larsen to Larssen to Lassen. My brick wall: My great grandfather, George "Allen", whose name has always been a mystery, was born in Lessie, Denmark in 1822. On a trip to California he did not have a passport, he took the name of "Allen" by acquiring the papers of a passenger who died & was buried at sea. Was George's real name Lassen, Larsen or Nielsen?? He had several other brothers, one perhaps in the Orient. It was thought that the family had interest in the port system in Denmark. Can anyone help???
