Mary Ellen Latchford, Worcester, MA

I have a lovely old photo of Mary Ellen Latchford taken in Worcester, MA in 1897. I believe she is the daughter of Patrick J. and Johanna Latchford (both born in Ireland). Mary Ellen was born March 1878 in Massachusetts. She became a public school teacher and never married.

I would like to give her back to her family, so if you are related to her and want the photo, let me know.

Patricia Rock
prock2@ec.rr.com
Hello Paul
I think I must have touched a number of items and sent you two messages. If I can be of more help please get back.
I think that some Latchford worked on the canals in that area in the early 1800 and did in fact have links with Eccles area.I have'nt any proper facts to bear this out
apart from details from the census returns of that time.

Bill Latchford
(WilliamLatchford65)

Your query I received from you last week about James Latchford created an interest in going through earlier enquiries. I see that Harriet is the daughter of the James about whom you were enquiring - am I correct? There is a Harrietwho was a daughter of John and Ann Latchford who was born 1832 and is the sister of Henry who was James father.
For your interest she married a James WORSWICK and had children - Henry, John and Ann. I know that this is somewhat detached from your Harriet but I thought it may be of interest.
Were the details I sent to you of any interest. As I wrote
I cfan give some addresses and locations if you wish
Bill Latchford
Hi,

I am looking for any information on my ancestors- Joseph and Mary (Jones) Latchford. They had a daughter named Annie/Ann/Anna H. Latchford born about 1840. who married Nicholas Everts (I know about all there history) and her 2nd husband John Varner and their children as well.. but I do not know much on Annie or her parents. I know that Annie lived in PA throughout her life and died in Brooklyn, New York in 1908. I feel I have hit a bump with the Latchfords. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank you.
Sabrinasmith76@yahoo.com
Hello. Yes, lots of info on Gertie Latchford if you go to genes reunited and send a message to MARK HEAL (my cousin) - Gertrude Latchford is on his tree - in fact I have just been talking to him and we've been talking about Gertie and Barry Lupino & the children they had together - Peter, born in June 1912 and registered as Peter LATCHFORD (find him in free BMD) then Barry and Antoinette Lupino . Barry Lupino was first married to Georgina May Anstruther, who was my grandmother. My grandfather was Frederick Giles, the man she lived with after Barry deserted her and went off with Gertie to Australia. The connections are all very involved and complicated, but you might find it all interesting. My name's Cathy Giles, you can find me on genes reunited too, but I'm not sure if my tree is quite so up to date as Mark's. Good luck, do get back to me if you want.
Kind Regards

Latchfords from Ireland

Hi, I don't know much, but my father John F. Latchford did some investigating before his death in 99'. My Great-Great Grandfather was born in Ireland on Aug. 6, 1840. His name was John P. Latchford. He married a Julie Kelly also from Ireland, not sure about counties though. I know that somewhere he got the idea they German Palentines originally, that ended up in Ireland (not them but John P.'s ancestors). They settled in Jersey City eventually. Came over around the civil war time. Would be interested to know if you find out anything, who knows somewhere there could be a link. Take Care

Richard is great great grandfather. Susan Wentz was his first wife, I descend from Lucinda Albright Latchford, his second wife. How are you connected?
Jerry

Any Latchford Connections out there?

I am researching my Joseph Latchford who was a steel buckle manufacturer in mid-18th century Wolverhampton. He and his wife Judith had three children - John (1761), Mary (1764), William (1765) (all received RC baptisms in Walsall). There was also a Joseph jr whose baptism hasn't yet been found, born ca. 1765. There is a further child, Edward, baptised St Peter's Birmingham 1775, mother Mary.

John, Edward and Joseph all became brassfounders. Joseph was a brass button manufacturer in Birmingham, while John and Edward became wealthy London west end bit, bridle and spur manufacturers (both to the royal household).

I'd be most most interested to hear from anyone connected with them or who's come across them. Most of their marriages aren't on the IGI and I'd like to know whether these Latchfords were long established in the Black Country or came from somewhere else.
