LATSHAW, Sidney/Sydney, wife Sarah Lane Smith, Venango, PA

Hi,

I'm helping an aunt with the genealogy of her Latshaw relatives. Her great-grandfather was Sydney Latshaw, who was married to Sarah Lane Smith. They lived in Venango County, PA. Unfortunatley, all she knows is their names. I would appreciate any help at all to get started with. I believe the name Gallagher may be related as well.

Thank-you,

Connie

N. WARD LATSHAW

I am looking anyone who may be from this line. Ward Latshaw married Sarah Troutman Hommel in 1902 in Union County, PA. She was the very young widow of John Hommel of Forest Hill, Union County, PA. Her first husband was killed while "felling a tree"; and they had recently become the parents of a daughter. Anyone with any info on these people would be greatly appreciated.

Dr. Latshaw in Philadelphia

I have several old photographs, purchased in a flea market several years ago. They were in one album, which had fallen apart. There is some family resemblance, but for the most part they are not identified. The only one is of a man identified only as "Dr. Latshaw", which was taken by a Philadelphia photographer. Others were also mainly done in Pennsylvania. Would be glad to exchange information, and would especially like to know more about Doctor Latshaw.

I would like to give this to a direct descendant. These surnames could be married names as the woman (Mary) is wearing a wedding ring.

Following is information I agreed to post for her and contact info if any of you are related.

Lucille Blackburn.... I am d/o Katherine Ann Latshaw and Ernest Lee Blackburn m. in Chicago. My mother Katherine was killed in an auto accident at age 22, 1970 in Windsor New Jersey. News article about the crash said the family was from Tennessee but the car had Georgia plates. Death certificate for Katherine had informant as Frank J Latshaw. I'm not sure if he was her father or grandfather. Have been told he lived in Memphis Tennessee most of his life but his address around 1970 was Huntsburg Ohio. Frank died in Chicago, 1990. Katherine's obituary mentioned she had 3 brothers and 3 sisters but no names were given. Katherine was born and buried in Huntsburg, Ohio. I have searched for years and am very hopeful someone here will have some information. Please call me at 904-375-2810. If I'm not there please leave message and I'll call you back. Thank you.
