Have you tried www.latta.org

Latta has often beeen misspelled lawtie, latty, lattea, latto, and lottie may be another.

There are Irish/Scot/Slavik/Italian/ and Rusyn Latta's
Last year i saw a message board describing a Robert and Thomas Latta/Latty having sired families in Jamaica. They were Tea Merchants I beleive. From either Scotland or Ireland. We have a DNA project going on right now with interesting results. Kind regards from Canada Kathy Latta

Hello. My name is Rita Lottie. I am trying to find informatin on my husbands grandfather. His name was Frank Latty. All I know is that he came from Canada. He married a Mary Foster and had several children. He is a mystery to the family. We might not be looking for the same Latty's but it is worth a try. Please let me know if any of this sounds familiar. We found out that he immigrated to the US in 1882. All it states is that he was canadian french. I am trying to contact anyone who might have a possible connection. I would love to help my husband find information about his grandfather that he never knew.

In Washington County, Missouri there is a cemetery called the Potosi Old Masonic Cemetery. This cemetery is located in Breton Township, SUR430-T37N-R2E. Location/directions: Between High Street (Hwy 8) and Breton Street next to the Presbyterian Cemetery in Potosi, MO.
Buried there are James Latty b. 17 May 1807 d. 12 Aug. 1872 and John Latty b. 27 Dec. 1804 d. 16 Aug. 1882. They both were born in Trimble County, Kentucky. This is the county in Kentucky where my Latty family has lived since 1837 when Trimble county was formed. There also was an area called Latty in Washington Co., Missouri. Has anyone heard of Latty MO. or this John or James Latty?

In a Jackson Co. marriage book, there is a J. M. Latty married to Minnie Whitehead. This is the one that got my attention since my g-grandmother had a sister by that name in Jackson Co.

There is also an Allen Latty married to Mrs. Jane Latty. On the female side there a few. Eagletine Latty married to Samuel I. H. Roberts, M. J. Latty married to W. W. Stover, Margaret A. Latty married to W. W. Magniss, and Minnie Latty married to John A. Rider.

I wonder if this Minnie is the one I'm looking for. Only four years seperate the marriages between the two couples.

Maybe this will be some help.
Alan

Hi Richard...
This may not be a jot of help but I would like further information on a Martha "Mattie" R.H. Littee. The information that I have on this relative is that she was married in Coweta County, Georgia to my relative Benjamin Hill Dial. She had previously been married to a Littee. There is no board for the "Littee" surname so I did a soundex search to find this board. I haven't a clue how she ended up in Coweta County but maybe her previous husband did too!!! Hope this gives you a lead and if you know anything... I'd love some input.
til later,
deb-

Lattys in Michigan

I'm looking for some Lattas(Lattys) from Michigan. The problem is I have precious little information. I'm looking for a William Latta that was born in Michigan in May 1871. He states on his 1910 and 1920 census that his father was born in Canada. His mother must have remarried not long after his birth to a Weatherby. My g-grandfather was his half brother, Mason Cotnam Weatherby. William had a cousin named Sarah Latta that states she also was born in Michigan in 1871. She married William Marshall Wilkerson in 1886 in Alabama.
Any ideas where to look next?
