BENJAMIN TAYLOR LAWS
Benjamin Taylor Laws 1860 - 1923
Carrollton, Mississippi
Mr. B. T. Laws died last Wednesday night at the home of his son Percy Laws, in Eldorado, Arkansas, where he had gone on a visit from his home in Texas. He was buried Saturday in Marvin Cemetery, six miles from Carrollton. Rev. S. C. Yates conducted the funeral service.
Mr. Laws was for many years a valued citizen of the county. Here he was known and admired for his strict entegrity, his upright character, his Christian life, his kindly and sympathetic help of those in distress and for his splendid citizenship. He moved to Oklahoma a few years ago, much to the regret of his friends here. He later moved to Cooper, Texas and his home was at that place when he died. He was 63 years of age and during that life had lived as a true man. In all relations of life he was faithful.
Besides his wife, the following relatives from a distance were here to attend his funeral.
His daughter, Mrs. C. W. Scruggs and children and his son Percy Laws of Eldorado, Arkansas; his daughter, Mrs. Marie Woods of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Dick DeLapp and wife of Charleston, Mississippi; William Lott and wife of Grenada; Mrs. W. T. Allen of Avalon
